My husband and I chose Lashawn as our photographer for our March 11, 2008 wedding in Maui and were totally thrilled when the disk of our pictures was waiting for us in our mailbox upon returning from our honeymoon. To say we were thrilled with the results is a total understatement - I was blown away with how great the pictures turned out. I truly can not say one bad thing about Lashawn or his work.

Everything you read on his website is the absolute truth. Lashawn is a sweet, soft-spoken guy who is 'everywhere but nowhere' - that is a perfect way to describe his presence. There were so many pictures on our disk that he took and I had no idea he was even shooting at the time. I loved that!

From the moment Lashawn arrived, I just felt totally at ease with him. He is very calm, which really helped me stay calm. My maid of honor was having a bit of trouble lacing the back of my dress and needed an extra set of hands. Lashawn was the only other person around, so he just jumped right on in and helped her out!

If you have a list of must take pictures, Lashawn will make sure he gets every single one of them. For example, I really wanted a picture with the sun setting behind my husband and me, and the sun was blinding Lashawn, but he just kept shooting away until he had a few perfect shots. But I have to say, my favorites are the spontaneous pictures he took of us in our natural, everyday 'pose'. He picked up on our mannerisms and our style and made sure to capture lots of those moments. He took advantage of the fact that I got soaked when a wave came crashing in on me during our ceremony. My dress got pretty drenched and sandy, but I have to say- it made my pictures even more amazing! Lashawn got some AWESOME shots of us walking along the water's edge and getting wet since I was already soaked. Those are some of my favorite pictures. Lashawn ended up getting wet too, but he just kept on going like he didn't even notice it!

The ONLY thing I regret about our shoot is not hiring him for an extra hour!! I paid for the three hour package which was plenty of time to get shots of me getting ready, the ceremony, family pics, then pictures of just my husband and I without feeling rushed. Then we got to our reception venue and Lashawn made sure to get shots of our grand entrance, first dance, and the cake cutting. After that, his three hours were up (actually I think he ended up going a little over the three hours), and had I known I could have asked him to stay for an extra hour, I would totally have done that. Our guests took plenty of snapshots of our toasts and special moments throughout the dinner, but it would have been great to have Lashawn there for that.

This review may be lengthy, but wedding photography is one, if not the, most important aspect of a wedding day. I am beyond thrilled with our wedding pictures and look at them almost every day :) People have even told me that they belong in bridal magazines! I can't wait to go back to Maui, and one of the first things I'll be doing is booking Lashawn for a portrait shoot.
