We were originally going to get married in 2007, and we had booked Amanda for the wedding. When we moved our date back, Amanda was already booked that day, so she offered to do engagement pics in exchange for her non-refundable deposit. Anyway, Amanda is awesome. She's got a great personality, and she is very talented!! We got a lot of great pics and didn't have to spend a lot. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

I ordered my veil from Occansey 3 weeks before the wedding. I just wanted a simple, short one to wear for the ceremony and pictures. Their prices are amazing, and the veil looked great for what I needed it for. I received it pretty quickly after I ordered it. The only thing I would say about them is they have a lot of different options, and if you know nothing about veils it's a little confusing. They do try and do a good job of explaining things though.

We went through the Birmingham, MI location, and had no complaints. All the tuxes came in on time, and they were very helpful when we were figuring out what style to go with. They didn't have a vest in our color, but were able to find ties for the guys to wear. Some of our guys were measured at the Flint location I believe, and everything worked out fine. The tuxes looked great, no complaints here!

I got my bridesmaid dresses from Konja's and they were great. I wanted the girls to help pick out their dresses, and Konja's has a HUGE selection. We just started grabbing things we liked and they started trying them on, and we were able to narrow the selection down and settle on something we all loved. I had 6 girls order from them and we didn't have any issues. The nice thing about them is that the alterations are included in the price, so you don't have any hidden costs popping up. I think all of my girls needed some alterations, and they were all done correctly the first time and on time. I even had one bridesmaid that had to have surgery to remove some tissue in her breast, totally changing the sizing of the top of her dress, 10 days before the wedding. She actually had her fitting the Wednesday before we got married and they had it done and fitting perfectly by Saturday.

Moni's was great, I found the dress I liked there, ordered it, and they did all the alterations too. My dress got stuck in China during the earthquakes and came about two months late. Moni's was on the phone with the designer and kept me updated before I even had a chance to call them. The only problem I had with them was with the alterations. They charged me an arm and a leg (practically as much as the dress itself cost) for alterations. And I never knew what the cost was going to be until after I had my first fitting. Also, I'm not sure how this happened, but when I went to put on my dress on the wedding day, the clasp at the top of the zipper was broken, well one side of it wasn't there. This ended up being a huge headache for me all day, because my zipper kept coming unzipped. My mom, bridesmaids, and DOC tried to sew it multiple times to no avail. We tried to safety pin it but it wouldn't work. I'm not sure if it was broken during alterations or what. On the plus side, I only had to have the dress altered once, it fit perfectly at the second fitting.

We used Millenium for our wedding day transportation. I think we used the Town Car limo, it fit our bridal party of 14 pretty perfectly, I don't think there was an extra seat! We only used them for three hours, to get us to the church from the hotel, then for pictures after the ceremony, and to drop us off at the reception. The limo was nice and clean, and the driver was very nice. He had to open the door for me each time and helped me out which was nice. He also followed me around with an umbrella the whole time we were taking pictures, saying his only job was to keep the bride dry. That was appreciated, although he had kind of an attitude about it when I said I didn't care if we got a little wet, I would sacrifice to get a good shot! He also showed up very early, which if I'd have known it was our limo, I would have had him take more of my family to the church, but I didn't know it was him until afterwards. All in all I would recommend this company.

We used Kristie for our invitations for the wedding and shower, and also our table numbers for the wedding. I absolutely LOVED our invitations for both! We have gotten a ton of compliments about how great they looked. Kristie will work with your budget to create a custom invite that is perfect for you. We went through a few proofs and explained kind of our vision to her, and she re-created it even better than I could have imagined. She is also the nicest person, I sent her about a million emails asking tons of questions, and she always answered right away, and never got annoyed by all my questions. I would definitely recommend her!
We used Bella Tesora as a day-of-coordinator for our wedding. Julie was my coordinator there with her assistant. I literally don't know what I would have done without her! The coordinators at our reception location quit before the wedding, and I was able to hand off everything to Julie to take care of, I didn't have to worry about a thing. I just told her how I wanted the centerpieces to look and she set everything up beautifully. She also took care of setting everything up at the church, which also looked great. She was always there when I needed her, and took care of at least one issue that I know of without telling me until later! My flower girl followed us up to the head table after our introductions, and Julie ran and got a chair for her before she had time to even start whining about it (we had planned for her to sit with her parents - i didn't think she'd want to sit with us!). She also saved my husband's tux and my sister's bridesmaid dress with her shout wipes! She was amazing.
I would suggest, if you have the money, get a DOC! The peace of mind alone is worth the cost.

We used Joe from Music Box for our DJ, on the recommendation of a few different friends, and he definitely did not dissapoint!! We didn't even really give Joe a "must play" list or anything, just met with him and described kind of the vibe we were going for and what kind of guests we had, ages, etc. The music he chose was totally perfect. He played great songs during dinner, he picked a great song for our cake cutting, and kept the dance floor packed all night! He was also wonderful coordinating all the events, the entrance, the speeches, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, etc. And I think that was really the only time I heard him on the mic. There was absolutely no cheesy comments, no egging people on to dance, no nothing. It was exactly what we wanted. Music Box is a little on the higher end price wise, but in my opinion they are totally worth it. A bad DJ can totally ruin a wedding!

We used Costco for all the flowers for our wedding. I always wanted calla lillies for my wedding, and after getting a few quotes from florists I didn't think I could afford them, so I looked into wholesale flowers. Costco had the cheapest prices, and since we are already members I knew how great their service was. The flowers arrived the morning that we had chosen for delivery, and they were in great shape. I actually called them that morning to be sure they were on their way and the customer service rep was very nice and friendly, and was able to get me the FedEx tracking number. My only complaint is it says on the website that the callas take 2-3 days to open, so we had them delivered on a Wednesday for our Saturday wedding. They definitely were not open all the way by then, even though we kept them in water the whole time. If I was to order again I would probably have them delivered on Monday or Tuesday at the latest to give them more time to open. The flower still looked great until about Tuesday-Wednesday after the wedding. We didn't keep them in water very well after though, if we had I'm sure they would have lasted longer. It kind of made me sad to see them fully opened AFTER the wedding! But I do think they looked great on the day. Also if you choose to DIY your flowers - be prepared for their arrival. I didn't really think of it much, I just figured I'd throw them in a vase, but the stems of the callas were HUGE, and I had nowhere to put them at first. It was a little stressful. Also, you probably want to designate your mom or MOH or something to take care of them. I ended up having lots of little things I had to do in the day or 2 before the wedding, and my mom and aunt made all the bouquets for me, and I was able to hand off the centerpiece flowers to my day-of-coordinator. I don't think I would have had time to do it myself so it worked out great.
