I was happy overall with my dress, but a little confused/disappointed with the fit. I lined up perfectly with the size 6 on their chart, so we ordered it and the salesgirl at the bridal salon told me I likely wouldn't need alterations. It came, and I hadn't gained/lost ANY weight, but it was at least 3 inches too big in the stomach. The tailor told me there was "only so much he could do" with that shape of dress. That's not Pronovias's fault, but frustrating because if the size chart had been more accurate to the dresses' size/dimensions, then the salespeople at the salon could have warned me that it would be difficult to take in appropriately.

The tailor ended up doing an okay job with it (he did his best under the circumstances), but there was still too much extra fabric in the belly that just couldn't be fixed. It looked like it would fit someone 18 weeks pregnant just perfectly. Kind of a waste, as one of the main reasons I'd chosen that dress was to flatter my little waist. Oh well.

I was so happy with the way that our invitations turned out. We got so many compliments, people told us they were the most beautiful invitations they'd ever seen!

One thing: the assemble-your-own discount (if they're still offering it) is NOT worth it! Oh my goodness. I was given a 15% discount to do all the assembly myself, and it took me at least two weeks to finish (for 70 invitations). I would gladly have paid the extra $75 if I'd known how long it would take!

They're great! We bought our save-the-dates and escort cards through WPD. Shipping seems to ALWAYS run ahead of their estimate, the quality of their product is fantastic, and prices are completely reasonable. Thanks WPD!

The best!! I ordered $650 worth of shoes for consideration for my wedding. Shipping was free, and they arrived the next day. So I tried everything on, picked my favorite, then returned the rest with their free returns! Couldn't have been easier!

I do all my shoe shopping through zappos now. Love it!

We got two bouquets (bride's and maid of honor's) and six boutonnieres from Westlake Plaza Florist. Everything turned out beautifully... except that they put these weird pipecleaners on the boutonnieres. We just took them off.

They were easy to work with and relatively inexpensive ($150 for bridal bouquet, $100 for MOH's bouquet, and $10 each for our simple single-lily boutonnieres). I loved our flowers!

I went to Betty after reading all the glowing reviews on here. Now, I'm questioning their validity--if you'll notice, they're nearly all written by members who haven't reviewed anything else, and almost all of them within days of each other. Seems fishy to me--that's often a sign of a vendor putting out false reviews that they themselves have written.

I should preface this review by saying that I am a working actress in Los Angeles, so I have a lot of experience with professional makeup and hair artists.

I had a truly AWFUL consultation/trial with Betty. I was given a specific allotment of time for the trial (normal), which would have been more than enough if she hadn't spent the first 30 minutes after my arrival googling some medical condition that she has and was convinced I would develop because we have similar coloring. While I appreciate being informed of such things, I'd have much preferred her to write the name of it on a piece of paper and let me research it myself, instead of letting me sit there waiting for her while she ate up the time I was paying for.

Finally I got her away from her computer after lots of "Thanks, I'll look into it later--would you like to see the pictures I brought?" She sat me down, set my hair into pin curls, then she started on my makeup.

She didn't ask me anything about my skin (sensitivity, allergies, etc.) before starting, which is strange for a makeup artist, but I thought that she might just have really good instincts. I wasn't permitted to look in the mirror until she was "finished," so I couldn't make suggestions or comments on what I did and didn't like along the way. Again, I assumed she just had good instincts, so I trusted her. I felt her working only on one side of my face, and after about 10 minutes (not very long for makeup...) she said "Do you need to see both sides? Or will just one eye do? Because we're getting short on time." Umm, whose fault is THAT, Miss Google? I said that I guessed just one was fine, if it meant I'd be able to try the two hairstyles I paid for. She showed me my makeup, which was absolutely horrid. It looked like the kind of makeup I was doing at age 12, when I'd first discovered eyeshadow. I am NOT exaggerating. I thought it was a joke. Then she put some lipgloss on, which stung a little, so I asked if it was supposed to do that. She said yes, it enhanced the color (I'm fully aware that there are lipglosses that do this, I own some, but this was absolutely not the same). 2 minutes later it was BURNING and I asked for baby wipes to remove it. My lips were BRIGHT red for at least six hours, then started peeling. Not necessarily her fault, but she should've known/warned me that she was putting something potentially irritating on me.

So then we did the hair, half-up first. This was not quite as disappointing as the makeup, but poor nonetheless. The curls looked completely unpolished, and when I asked about that she said "Well it won't look that way the day of." Excuse me, but isn't the point of a trial to see exactly what you'd get the day of, in order to decide whether you want it? By that point, I was pretty ready to write her off, so I didn't bother pushing the issue. She then did an updo that was actually lovely, but not secure at all. The pins were falling out less than an hour later, and the loose curls had become completely straight--she didn't use any styling product at all, so it's not surprising that they fell out.

During the whole consultation she was also questioning me (and not in a friendly day-at-the-salon way) about my education, career (which she decided to give me advice on, even though I have found more success as an actor at 24 than she ever has at 50+), etc. and then went on to say she can't IMAGINE having gotten married at my age, that she would have been divorced before 30 and back at square one. I was disgusted that she would speak to a bride this way. Then came the kicker--I was talking about the dark circles under my eyes and that I thought they were a result of my very fair skin being "really thin" in that area. When I said the words "really thin" she shouted "You are NOT thin!" I was shocked. My body aside (though at a size 2, most people would not be aghast even if I HAD suggested that I am thin), I could not believe that A. she was not listening closely enough to have any clue what I was saying yet thought it was appropriate to comment so forcefully, and B. that she would so openly insult a potential client!! What on earth was she thinking? I suppose I'll never know.

Bottom line: I have no idea how she is so well reviewed on here. No idea. Though given the interesting stats of her reviews (as I discussed at the beginning of this review), I'm starting to develop a theory. She says that she works professionally all the time, but I asked when her last photoshoot was and she said "Oh I can't even remember!" She was disrespectful of my time, and generally rude and condescending to me. Even if her work had been beautiful (which it wasn't), I wouldn't have wanted to poison my wedding day with the presence of such a negative and toxic person.

FANTASTIC cakes. We did tastings at 6 other LA area bakeries before Rosebud (all in similar price ranges), and weren't anywhere NEAR as impressed with any of them. Rosebud was great--very responsive, flexible, and they truly love what they do.

Plus, the cakes are moist, tasty crowd pleasers!

Bottom line: good choice for the price, but be very specific about what you do (and, more importantly, don't) want.

We had Mark for our wedding. He was easy to work with and quite responsive over email. He got our specific requests right, but I didn't like a lot of his own song choices (lots of cheesy '80s stuff), and he had some trouble getting people on the dance floor. For the price, though (which is much lower than the competition), he was a good option.

Michelle and Josh were incredibly personable and upfront with us. We just loved their business philosophy, and felt like we'd be in good (and trustworthy!) hands with them, which was such a comforting feeling after meeting with some pretty sleazy photographers.

Jessica did a wonderful job with our photos, we got quite a few fabulous shots. The only complaints we had were our own fault (forgetting to request certain shots, poor lighting for the ceremony because of a medical hold up).

In a nutshell: pretty limited selection, pushy, and overpriced.

The younger salesgirl that worked with me was pretty nice, but there was an older woman who kept popping in to comment on the dresses and try to sway me toward more expensive ones. She'd bring ones in that looked NOTHING like my description of what I wanted, and insist "Just try it on, you'll thank me afterward!"

I ended up falling in love with a dress there, but not buying it because I wasn't sure I wanted to pay the $2200 price tag. I am SO glad that I didn't, because I found the exact same dress for $1500 at another salon (La Soie in Torrance)!

My experience in the store was not all that bad or unexpected, BUT I have been getting calls/voicemails from them at least once a month since that day. I keep telling them to please take me off their calling list because I've already bought a gown elsewhere. I got a voicemail a couple of weeks ago saying "If you already have a gown, Miss Musey, just TELL us so we don't have to keep wasting our time calling someone who never calls us back!" I was highly offended, especially since I'd already told them repeatedly that I DID have a gown and to take me off the list. The nerve!
