Peggy did our STD and started work on our invitations. In the process, I realized that she doens't really cater to your ideas but instead uses a lot of templates for her design.

I can't say enough about James Standfield Catering. We worked with Alicia from the very start. She was a wonderful catering manager. She answered all our questions, made suggestions and was all around a great help in the whole process.
When I couldn't make it to Classic Party Rentals to change our linens, the owner brought the linens to me on our walk through - complete with all the choices of linens, silver ware, china, a table and a chivari chair! Talk about great service.
On our wedding day, we had Rick (the owner of JSC) and Alicia there to manage the whole thing - we were taken cared of.
Their prices are unbeatable. They don't cahrge corkage fee, cake cutting fee, and service charge. I even upgraded some of our rentals at a very minimum charge. And of course to top it all, everyone loved the food we served on our wedding.
If I can give them more than 5 stars I would!!!
Suzanne was great to work with. I told her my vision and she executed it very well. We got a lot of compliments on our wedding invitations. It definitely set the tone for our wedding. IT was elegant, classy and vibrant! I also had Suzanne create all our wedding day stationery and they were beautiful. She even made extras so that we have some to keep as a reminder of our lovely wedding.

I hired Lisa 5 weeks before my wedding (after I realized that I can't enjoy my day turning over the details of my wedding to the 1st DOC I hired). Having Lisa as my DOC was one of the best last minute decisions I made. You couldn't tell she's just starting out her DOC services with her organization and attention to details.
She went through all my vendor contracts immediately after I hired her. She thought of every little details I didn't even think about. She asked questions and didn't make any assumptions on how I want to do things. She made all the calls to my vendors 2 weeks prior to our wedding and kept me informed on everything that's going on.
My sister (my MOH) enjoyed working with Lisa during the reception. Our guests showed up 45 minutes early and somehow Lisa handled it. There was also a missing table name and Lisa made one on the spot. When it was time to do our money dance, I told Lisa that we are not going to do it because my mom forgot the pins but Lisa actually found them and got the the pins for us.
I had the time of my life during our wedding and Lisa made that possible. I was able to let go and really enjoy our day because Lisa was there. If you haven't hired a DOC yet, don't make a decision until you meet Lisa.
I hired Michelle 9 months before our wedding base on recommendations I read about her on another message board. When I interviewed her she seems to be on top of things. She also told me that she's also coordinating the wedding on my location the day before ours and she said she can coordinate with the other bride so that we can share the cost of some rentals - including chivari chairs.
After I hired Michelle I didn't hear from her for months. She never answers her phone and usually replies to my e-mails a couple of days later. I also got the impression that she was minimizing all my concerns. The deciding factor why I had to let her go 5 weeks before my wedding was when she provided me with the wrong caterer to coordinate the chivari chairs with.
In the end, I didn't feel that I can fully relax and enjoy my wedding day if Michelle was my coordinator.
Would I recommend Henry for your wedding? ABSOLUTELY! We had a blast on our wedding and Henry made it possible for us to let go and enjoy our big day.
He's impressive from my 1st email inquiry, to the day we met to interview him, to the weeks leading up to our wedding and he delivered on our wedding reception itself. Henry is very organized, he kept us informed on what's coming up. He coordinated everything from the introduction of the bridal party (even asked how to pronounce everyone's name and gave everyone instructions on when to come in), to all the speeches, and the dances. I even asked him to make sure that everybody got champagne before the toasts and he complied and informed our catering manager. Our videgrapher and photgrapher were impressed with Henry - I can tell how he made everybody's job easy and he worked well with all of them.
He is a professional MC - made the announcements when he needed to. We were very particular with this, we didn't want someone to take center stage and promote themselves. Henry made sure it was all about me and my husband that night. My cousin surprised us with a song and Henry worked with her on when it was appropriate to do it.
If we have to do it over again and again and again - we will have no other choice for a DJ but Henry Kim!
We met with Jen's husband for a tasting. Anthony was great, it was a pleasure to meet him and discuss cakes. Although he forgot to take the samples out of the refrigerator for us ahead of our appointment, he was by far the most organized cake person we met. He gave us a map of the cake flavors as it was laid out on the plate. They were very tasty and unfortunately out of our price range. For a 4 tier cake, he initially quoted us $1300 but he brought it down to $1100 when he saw our reaction. I thought their price range is $$ on Project Wedding, but my calculation puts them on $$$+ price range.
Anthony sent us a thank you note after our meeting, what a nice touch.

We tasted cakes with CAKERY early on in our wedding process. Their cakes were fantastic but we didn't get the service we thought we deserved, they took another couple on the time of our appointment.
I'm so glad that after several months, we decided to go back to give them another chance (theire cake were very tasty after all). Theresa (the bakery manager) redeemed herself. We went in for another (3rd!) tasting once we decided on our cake design. We were going to have a 3 tier cake and a sheet cake, but their prices are so reasonable that our cake will be 5 tiers! We can't wait... For the taste and the price, we are giving them 5 stars!!!

As expected, our cake was delicious and it was beautiful! Our DJ even made an announcement before we cut our cake - he told everyone that it was their last chance to see how fabulous our cake was. Our guest loved it and we did too!
They were recommended to me early on of our wedding planning process by a co-worker of mine who was very happy with their services. I decided to contact them because I read so many great reviews about their cakes. I left them a couple of messages (a couple of weeks apart). Unfortunately, they NEVER returned any of my phone calls or e-mail inquiries; not even to tell me that they are not available on our wedding date. I just think as business people it's crucial to get back to potential customers.
My rating was based on their unresponsiveness not on their cakes.

Monster Crayons were very difficult to get a hold of. I left them several telephone messages and sent them an e-mail and I didn't hear from them until 3 weeks later. They told me via e-mail that they were not available for my wedding day. Then a week after that e-mail from Arnel, I got a DVD demo in the mail. I called them to clear up the confusion and once again I got their voicemail. Of course, I never heard back from them.
You ask about the DVD demo, it was our least favorite among the demos we received. I can send them to anyone who maybe interested in hiring Monster Crayons.
