I initially was excited to meet with Dan because he was the photographer for one of my friend's weddings. Her pictures were the most amazing photographs that I have ever seen. Instantly, Dan made me (and one of my bridesmaids) feel right at home. He is amazing at pampering the bride (aka, trying to schmooze a client). We were given some wonderful bubbly to drink while we looked through all of the books that he had on the coffee table. Something about Dan's personality just clicked with mine. I later went home, excited to tell my fiance about the photographer I had met with and he said to me (before I told him anything) "I know we are going to book him just by the look on your face when you talk about him". Dan is a film photographer. There aren't too many of those floating around these days. I love the fact that I get all of my negatives, all of my proofs, everything is mine. I don't have to battle someone for rights to my photos that I have paid for. The photos are mine 4 weeks after our wedding when they arrive, along with my negatives, a bottle of wine, a framed "first wedding photo" and a portfolio album composed of some of our best shots from the day. Of the packages that his company offered, I knew I couldn't book them without having him as my lead photographer. I'm sure all of the other people who work there are more than qualified, but Dan and I had made a connection and I cannot wait to see how my wedding photos turn out. Our engagement photo pictures are amazing and are a great first look at how well we will photograph together on our wedding day!
