My husband, Andy, and I had Ulysses Photography photograph our wedding day in August. It was supposed to rain that day so it started out as a pretty dismal day and all of our wedding pictures were supposed to be outside. The overcast didn’t matter though because Ulysses and Jenni turned that day into the most beautiful day imaginable with their photographs. Actually, their enthusiasm and wonderful charisma coupled with our excitement for the day, I believe, willed the sun to come out for a short period of time, just long enough to create amazing lighting for a portion of our photographs.
Ulysses and Jenni are more than just photographers. They are two people who are so completely passionate about what they do, and they genuinely believe in what they photograph: love. They are married, so they understand the magic we were experiencing on our special day. Ulysses and Jenni wanted nothing more than to make our day perfect. They listened to our ideas, needs, and desires first, and then they took it from there.
Before our actual wedding day, Ulysses and Jenni held what is called an “engagement session,” which was a photo shoot to help Andy and I become more comfortable with being in front of a camera. After that session, Andy and I felt one hundred percent comfortable with Ulysses and Jenni and with having our pictures taken by them because they were no longer strangers to us. We became close with Ulysses and Jenni and we thought so highly of them as individuals and as friends that it felt as though they were at our wedding as guests, not as photographers. Andy and I knew that our wedding pictures would be great after having seen the results of our “engagement session.”
When Andy and I first looked through our photographs and our wedding album we were absolutely speechless. Along with the big moments that had everybody’s attention, they captured the little moments, the precious moments, that ended up meaning the most to us. They caught those moments even when it seemed like nobody else was watching. There were times throughout the day when I thought to myself, “I want to remember this moment forever…,” and sure enough, those moments ended up right there in our wedding album.
I can not express my gratitude in words for what Ulysses and Jenni have given us. Along with their lasting friendship, they have given us a life-time of memories. They truly are amazing people and photographers.
