I was so utterly disappointed by the rude customer service I received at HOB today. I am standing up in a friend's wedding who was told by the bridal consultant when she picked up dresses for the out of down girls 2 days ago that I could come in "anytime" to pick up my bridesmaid dress. I decided that today would work best. I live about an hour away, so I decided to go when they first opened so I didn't spend my entire day sitting in traffic.

I went online to check their hours and called to confirm the hours. Both locations informed me that they would be open at 10:00 today, so I gathered up my very small child and headed out arriving around 10:15.

The sign on the door said they opened at 10 today, and no one was at the store but it was unlocked so I waited about 15 minutes before asking someone at the tuxedo rental place in the same building when they would be arriving. He informed me that the store had changed their hours today so they open at noon. I was annoyed, but had already driven a long way so I hung around the area until just before 12.
At 11:50 I walked in the front door and there was a lady sitting at the reception desk as I approached. Before I even opened my mouth she said, "I'm sorry, we don't open until 12." Up until then, I had planned on just taking my dress and leaving without a word, but without looking at me or greeting me she started our encounter by telling me that she would not help me for another 10 minutes?!?! So I replied, "Actually, yes, I know that and I am pretty frustrated by it. Your on-line sources as well as your voicemail say you open at 10 on Fridays so I got here just after 10 to find out that you have changed your hours today, so I've spent the last 2 hours filling time in an unfamiliar area with a two-year-old on a day that I have many other things to do. I just need to pick up a bridesmaid dress, so if you wouldn't mind helping me a few minutes early it would be appreciated." (Now-to be truthful-I WAS frustrated so there was a hint of sarcasm to my tone...about a 3 on a scale of 0-10). She...without a hint of acknowledgment of my frustration...told me to write down my name and the brides name and disappeared.

A few minutes later, another woman appeared. I assume that she is not a salesperson because of her casual attire (including a nearly see through white t-shirt top). Without a hello or anything else, she said "what's the brides name" and I gave it to her. She turned around and arrived with the dress soon after. She handed it to me...did NOTHING to confirm that it was the right color, dress, or size and began to walk away. Now I'm fuming because all I want is for one of these ladies to recognize that they dropped the ball by not at least updating their voicemail to let those of us who do not live near know that they will be opening 2 full hours late so I said (now at a 7/10), "thanks for your apology regarding me having to wait around here forever this morning." She rolled her eyes at me, turned on one heel and walked away. I said after her, "excuse me, can I get your name?" I am 100% positive she heard me but she kept walking and turned the corner. So I followed after her and asked again. Ignoring me for a second time she turned down the hall where employee offices are, so this time I called out after her, "Excuse me, I need your name please." At this point she turned her head to the side, barely looking over her shoulder and replied, "Dusty."

Now, all I wanted from HOB was a recognition of my frustrations. A, "hey, we're sorry that you had to hang around here all morning, let us go get your dress." Instead the only words I got resembled, "I won't help you for 10 more minutes", "Write down the brides name", and after significant coaxing "Dusty".

HOB, you should be ashamed that your employees treat your guests with such disregard for their time and for their opinions. Recognition of dissatisfaction goes A LONG WAY towards customer service, as any person with an infant's amount of knowledge regarding customer satisfaction, referrals, and possibility of return will tell you.

Please, save yourself the time, frustration and effort...do not go here.
