We had bridal henna done prior to the wedding. The bride, bridesmaids and mother-of-the-groom all had it done together. They had a really comfortable room for us to sit and chat in while the henna artist did her thing. It was a really calm time for everyone to come together as people arrived into town. She listened to our feedback on the types of designs. For example, I wanted something more Indian/Pakistani and did not want any hearts anywhere. She stuck to authentic designs and it was very stricking on my hands and feet at the wedding. It was also a beautiful memory during the honeymoon, as the henna slowly faded away.
We wanted something quiet, secluded and calming. This was perfect. It's nestled in the middle of the rainforest with no TVs, no phones, etc. Just hiking trails, thatched roof cabanas, delicious meals and peace. We saw four different types of monkeys. The staff were very friendly, but left us alone. There was no huge fanfare over being newly-weds, which was perfect for us. Our hut was simple, but comfortable with a private outdoor shower. We would lie in the hammock on our front porch and watch the ocean below us and the monkeys greeting us each morning.
We bought tulip bulbs and favor bags off of Ebay for very little cost. I highly recommend it! They were the same fancy favor bags you see in brial shops, but only like $10 for 50 bags. The tulips were from another Ebay vendor who bought them from Holland. Everything arrived with plenty of time to spare. They were a big hit.

We thought it was weird when a friend told us how good their cakes were, but we tried them out as we shopped around. The rumor is that their head baker was at Beaverton Bakery for years prior. The cake looked exactly like the picture we sent them. It was incredibly inexpensive and tasted great. So many wedding cakes taste like chalk, but this one was moist and rich. We had three layers with interesting cake/filling combinations. We listened to their recommendations on what cakes went well with different fillings. They did not disappoint. Plus, they made us the top tier of our cake for free on our one year anniversary, which was really sweet. The day of the wedding, our event coordinator told us the cake arrived with a dent on one side of one tier, which he fixed. It was unnoticable. For the price, it was still worth it.

They did an excellent job about being clear with us on the menu, working with us to make it seasonal, getting a great beer selection, etc. We didn't have to worry about a thing. The cake even arrived slightly dented and they fixed it without us even knowing! They were priced very reasonably and I think it's the best wedding food I've had. They even made us to-go boxes, since we left that night to fly out on our honeymoon. It was perfect to enjoy a warm meal while waiting for our plane.
The food was excellent and they handled our request for four vegan meals as well. We were told they were very tasty! Having the venue also be the caterer was one less thing to worry about. Everything was perfect.
Totally amazing photography. This was the one area we did not skimp on. He is going to be at the higher end of photography prices, but he is there all day with an assistant photographer. He knows how to document a day and catch those intimate moments without you noticing he is there. We still love our photos. After months of planning, this is the part you go back to for years and years. He captured all of the special moments and special details.

Amazing! I STILL get compliments on how beautiful the flowers were. They knew exactly what I wanted. We had non-traditional arrangements at the reception, so I had them make a trial arrangement. It was hideous, but I gave them clear feedback about what I liked and didn't like. On the day of the wedding, they nailed it. The arrangements were red and brown curly willow with chinese lanterns and rose hips. They looked striking, artistic, unusual and were very inexpensive. Everything looked stunning though. You would think it was all much more expensive than it was in reality.

Roger seemed nice and was somewhat flexible with the different options you could pick for the readings and how the ceremony went. But we felt no personal attachment to him. And I was adamant that either BOTH my parents or NEITHER of my parents walk me down the aisle. After mentioning that several times, he still tried to talk me into just my dad walking me down. I thought he should have read into my hesitation with that more, since my dad and I have a strained relationship. I wasn't willing to budge on that to make things more comfortable for the officiant. He did have the bright idea to stand down from us, so we faced outwards towards the audience. It seemed weird at first, but everyone loved being included in those intimate moments and the pictures turned out way better.

This is just the sweetest little church! Another couple was actually still there when we arrived, which was awkward, so make sure you buffer your time there on either end by about 30 minutes, to make sure the previous wedding and wedding after you don’t run into each other. It was super small, but incredibly romantic. Our pictures are amazing.

The stylist was okay and my hair looked nice for the wedding, but I would have liked her to bring more ideas to our initial visit. People's hair varies and mine is very fine and hard to hold. By the end of the night, I think it was coming undone. I wasn't attached to any particular style, but felt like I ended up picking one from a magazine since she didn't help guide me into one that would work well with my hair type.
