I got my wedding dress and veil here, along with a few other accessories. I could not recommend a vendor more. From the second you walk in Jaime and her mother make you feel right at home. They are easy to talk to, and you always feel as if you are visiting friends when you go there. They have a huge selection of gowns and are so affordable. Early in the day I was at other bridal shops trying on $2600 gowns, and at Arlene's I chose the first gown I tried on - which wound up being $700. They have a wide selection of attendant and mother gowns as well, plus veils, head pieces, jewelry, garters, purses and any other bridal accessory you can imagine.

Jill Sersen is the owner of Shindig Invites, located in Hoboken. She is phenomenal. You go for a consultation with her and describe what you are thinking. She then creates three or four different suites of stationary for your wedding for you to look over. I told her I wanted something Victorian, purple, and in a boxed mailer. Well, she came through. She created card stock with a purple Victorian print, tied with a beautiful ribbon and metal embellishment layed on a bed of fresh lavendar. I still have guests who talk about the invitations saying they are the most original and beautiful invitations they've ever received. She also designed my seating cards - sprigs of lavender tied with a ribbon and the seating card. Truely different. Her prices are very affordable as well. I looked at several other custom invitation companies and they were so over priced that we could never afford them - with Jill it was only a bit more than ordering invitations from a catalog!

Susan was just amazing. I cannot say enough about her. She is located in Rivers Edge, and when you walk into her shop she makes you feel right at home. She was the only florist I interviewed that 'got' my ideas for the flowers. She pulled out a stack of flower cards, layed them on the table, and said here's what I think we should do in your color scheme. I showed her pictures, and she said it wouldn't be a problem at all to recreate them. About a month before the wedding I went back to her shop to see the centerpieces she created so I could approve them, and my breath was taken away. Even my husband was impressed by them! On the day of the wedding she showed up at our hotel room with all of the bouquets and I almost started crying they were so beautiful! Then she went immediately to the venue and worked tirelessly for hours setting up the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception sites with only one other person to help her. She will ALWAYS be there to do the events personally so she knows they get done right. I was so impressed with Susan - she is a true artist with flowers and really went above and beyond my expectations.

EXCELLENT! Michelle and her assistant did my hair and makeup, as well as the hair and makeup of my five bridesmaids and my mother. I have very oily skin and the makeup she used didn't let any shine get through the entire day. Also, despite the humidity, my hair never frizzed up and the style held all day. My sister has very fine hair, and the style I chose for the girls stayed in her hair all day thanks to Michelle. Also, when we did my trial for the makeup and hair, about two hours after I got home the eye color she chose turned a terrible shade due to the oils in my skin - she had me come in a week later for a second trial no questions asked, and called the next day to make sure everything held up fine. She really cares what her brides look like, and wants them all to be happy. Working with her was so easy and so much fun, too. On the day of the wedding she showed up at 9 am ready to go, and it was like a big slumber party - all of us talking, laughing, and dancing to the radio! I'd recommend her to anyone - she's very professional and makes you look amazing on your special day!
