I called them to discuss how much it would cost for my wedding flowers, and the guy we spoke with was amazing. He is very honest, and stated it depends on what kind of flowers, and how many, how big you would like the bridesmaid bouquets, etc. The most important thing to me was my bouquet. I want an all orchid bouquet, one that waterfalls down. Everyone kept telling me that orchids are tropical flowers, and they will wilt for the wedding, and it's not a good idea - but I had my heart set on it. So, when I spoke with Mt. Washington Florist, they gave me a large boost of confidence. They reported that they have never had orchids wilt for any weddings that they have done, and that my bouquet doesn't get picked up until the day of the wedding anyways. They were very helpful, and we set an appointment for 3 months prior to the wedding to discuss more details, costs, etc. I am all about the vendors who are willing to be flexible, and go with the flow. Mt. Washington Florist has an amazing selection of beautiful flowers, and I highly recommend them. :)

Well - I don't have too much to say about Great Day. They did my sister's wedding 20 years ago, and they did my cousin's wedding a couple of years ago down at the Madison in Covington, KY. They have total control of your reception, keeping things moving along. So, why wouldn't I pick them for MY reception? We scheduled an appointment with them, and when we walked in the office it seemed okay. Then, when the guy started talking, we instantly realized it wasn't for us. They were very "cocky" with their services, and explained what they do - and that there was clearly no chance that our requests were not an option. We asked about having some lighting (basic lighting), and they said "You have lighting companies, and you have DJ's ... but you can't have both." Then was asked about the 20-30 minute down time during dinner, and how we wanted to play a slideshow of childhood pictures - growing up, and then pictures of us together...and he instantly interrupted by saying "any other questions." as if not to address that at all. When we brought it up again, he said he saw that once before, where a couple had it on a small screen TV in the corner of the reception hall, to give people something to do if they don't want to dance. Dumb idea. That's not what we asked. They seemed like a DJ who has been in the business for a long time, who does not deviate from what they are used to, almost as if they train their DJ's ONE WAY or the highway. I do not recommend them, unless of course you don't care about your reception, or what is to happen at your reception...

Finding a DJ has been a hassle for us. Until we contacted CSC (Creative Services of Cincinnati). Daniel was extremely helpful with providing the information we needed to know if booking with them was a wise decision. After meeting with several other DJ's, just shaking Daniel's hand was enough to make us realize that CSC was probably going to be our choice. They were very welcoming, very laid back, and more than honest. They explained how they have a 28,000-song music database to select music from, and that if we want something that they do not have - that they would purchase it for the wedding. They were very attuned to our needs, but also helped us to remember it's also for the guests! :) Their website was extremely helpful as well. Also, they are willing to work with you on a deposit. Typically it is $250.00 down with the contract, but they are flexible with you since the economy is causing money to be tight for most people. I definitely recommend CSC!

We booked our reception at the Receptions of Eastgate, with a lady by the name of Sue. She is extremely helpful, and was very nice to help us obtain the information we needed in order to decide if that was indeed the place we wanted to book our reception. She was very professional and kind, and not one of those "pushy" people who tried to do whatever it takes to get you to book your reservation. They were having a phenomenal deal back in the fall, that if you booked by Oct 31, 2008 - they would automatically throw in open bar well-drinks for free with our package. We are combining two large Catholic families, so that couldn't have worked out any better! Furthermore, this reception site is very nice on the inside, and all the people we made contact with have been great. Also, the weddings that I have attended there have also been very nice, so that only helped us with our decision-making process.
I most definitely recommend this facility! They only have a $6,000.00 minimum, unlike the Madison down in Covington, where it is a $16,000.00 minimum. That was way out of our price-range. Our reception is for around 300 people, and we got one of the better packages they offer. :)
