Mike Carcano is amazing to work with. It's a shame we couldn't use him as our entertainment. I'm sure he would have rocked the house! The chiarvari chairs really added that final touch to our reception. I loved the look and am so glad that I was able to convince my now hubby that we needed them!

Danielle is something special! She shot my boudoir pix, and they were amazing!! It's easy to be comfortable in front of the camera with her. She is great at direction if you don't know what you're doing. She knows how to use thelight and how to capture your best side. I'm so glad I took advantage of her services while she was in So Cal. You will not be disappointed with her work!
I had Brazilia fix a $35 dress I got off of ebay. The dress was a Jessica McClintock white gown with a sweet sweep train. I was going to try and use it for a TTD session, but finally decided hubby would never go for that thing. Then the last week before the wedding hit, and I freaking out about everything. My wedding dress had put on some weight after getting the extra tiers and train along with more crinoline and tulle. I was supposed to dance in it with my dad for our choreographed father-daughter dance, but we had not practiced with the dress on, and all I could imagine was him stepping on the dress and it just falling off my body. My mom convinced me to get this Jessica McClintock dress fixed for the dance. They did a great job for 2 days work, and the price didn't sound too bad at all! $110 to take in the size 6 dress to size ME, adjust the hem and sweep train to one length, adjust the top and remove the rhinestone straps for a sweetheart shape instead. So glad I did this because...my dad did end up stepping on my dress...thank goodness it wasn't the dress. But it turned out to be a great dress!
I was in love with style Harvard by Siri. I couldn't find anything quite like it. I gathered other ideas and potential dresses, but it was overwhelming, and I was exhausted by it. I finally decided that I would let my girls go with any dress from Siri. Siri is based in San Francisco, and since two of my girls were up there, I thought it would be fun to do a road trip from So Cal to Nor Cal...this way the girls would get to know each other, and we could check out Siri. They tried on all the dresses, and we chose our favorites, narrowed it down to two, then picked one...Harvard! I'm so glad we did it this way...I think it would have been such a pain going to a bunch of stores and trying on a bunch of dresses. Service was great, we got a discount...was a little sad to hem the dress would cost extra...even though they already make the dresses from scratch. Why not just give me the hem length I need instead of giving it to me when I don't need it. Otherwise, I would give them 5 stars.

I was gonna make the guys buy gray suits from Express, but the guys opted to rent. Thank goodness Friar Tux had a gray suit. I would have preferred the suits to be more slim fitting. We went to two different Friar Tux, and went to the one in Costa Mesa as we liked the customer service better.
You register online, and send a reminder to the guys to get their fitting, and you can confirm whether or not they did it.
Everything was fine until the day before when the guys had to pick up their suits. One of the guy's pants were huge, and there was a missing shirt. They made my groomsmen drive over to another store to pick up the correct colored shirt. It was the day of our rehearsal, and he was late because he had to travel out of his way (already coming from Nor Cal) to get another shirt. I think they should have picked up the shirt and hand deliver it to us.

They were contracted with the Hilton Irvine, so the cost was included in our package. We chose white cake and mixed berries and bavarian cream as the filling. The cake was super moist, and they were able to achieve the simple design we had in mind. And we get a free 1 year anniversary cake. Would have been five stars if the buttercream (frosting on the outside) wasn't so sweet...there was just too much sugar. I didn't even eat the frosting, but we prefer "Asian" cakes where the frosting is not as sweet. Also...was a bit offended when the first sales lady we spoke with told us that "our kind" of cakes are bland...um...you're not supposed to insult the customer. But they were open on Sundays, and our wedding was on a Sunday, so we would have fresh cake, so we picked them.
We heard from our guests how much they liked the cake and how surprised they were that it was good...so that made me happy.
We chose to choreograph our first dance. We saw a friend do it, and it was such a treat for the guests...though it did take some convincing him to make it happen. My dad totally wanted our father-daughter dance choreographed.
Nicole was great. $50/lesson, 1 lesson = 1 hour. You choose to do as many or as little lessons as you like. For both my dad and hubby, we only needed 3 lessons per dance (3 for father-daughter, 3 for first dance): 1st lesson to learn the dance moves, get comfortable with music, 2nd and 3rd lessons to learn the dance. Both of our dances were under 4 minutes. Hubby and I did a swing dance (more complicated), and Dad and I did a simple 2-step.
Nicole was wonderful! We were very happy with the results, and our guests sure enjoyed the show as well.
Our savior! Linda Ly was freaking amazing throughout the entire process. She was our full-service coordinator and involved from the beginning of planning to the day of, and we're both so thankful that we were able to have her. Hubby didn't think we really needed a coordinator, but the day after, he admitted to his friends that he couldn't imagine what the day would have been like without her.
She brought 3 assistants, one of which who would follow me around and make sure that I was okay at all times. They were able to direct our guests in an organized manner from ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception. And when we threw a curve ball (and we threw more than one) at her by surprising her something new that wasn't on the schedule...she hit that ball out of the stadium.
She was prepared for everything and anything, is super organized, and passionate about her job! She has so many great ideas; I wish we could have used them all.
Getting a good DJ was high priority for us. For my family, a good DJ could make or break your day; the DJ would be a measure of how good your wedding was. Luckily, we found Steve, and he definitely made our day.
We were recommended to check out Steve Burdick Events by Mike Carcano (Carcano DJ, who is also amazing but not available for our wedding day). Steve was formerly with Invisible Touch, so I was already impressed with his resume from the first time we met him. What closed the deal was our first meeting. He was considerate to meet us at our venue to get a feel of the place. He made sure to know our tastes were...to make our day more personable for our guests. He threw in a bunch of ideas I'd never heard of from other DJs, and we met with 4 other DJs before him. He is all about making it about your day, the way you want it.
He also did our lighting and gobo. He really set the mood and kept the party going all night long! We got so many compliments from our guests on how great he was.
I had been stalking { j a c } since we were engaged, and we were engaged for 2 years. So after we finally booked a venue, we talked to them right away. And I'm glad we did! They are extremely pleasant and fun to work with from the time we met to the day of our wedding. They work well together, obviously, because they're husband and wife, but they just complement each other so well. Chris sees the big picture; Jamie catches the details. Their work is classic with an edge. I wanted to be able to look back at these in 20 years and love them like I did when I first saw them. I'm sure we will! And we would definitely use them again in the future!
