You cannot go wrong with booking Black Gold Golf for your wedding. I had my reception there recently and it was wonderful! Julie (the wedding coordinator at BG) is very sweet and helpful. She makes planning your wedding there easy and stress-free. Pay a little more for her wedding coordinator service. It's worth it because she handles everything for you and sets up before your guests arrive. She is also very responsive to emails and questions, which is important. We were also very impressed with the quality of the food at the reception. We received many compliments on the food (some guests said it was the best food they have had at a wedding), and it was also a nice gesture for the Chef Larry to come out and check in with us and personally greet our guests. The chocolate fountain was a big hit with our guests (especially the kids). The venue is beautiful and very well kept. The waterfalls outside of the banquet room is perfect for photos. I would highly recommend BG! Everything here is first-class!
The guys got all of our tuxes there for my wedding. Good tuxes, decent prices, but totally unorganized. Requires some hand-holding & follow-up to ensure they don't mess up on your order. Overall, pretty average.

Rockwells came with my package at my reception venue, so I didn't have a choice on my bakery. They were easy to work with and dependable. The cake on my wedding day was delivered on time and it looked just as I had imagined it to look. I didn't get to eat much of my cake that day (we were too busy), but our guests enjoyed it. I have tasted better cake from other bakeries, but Rockwells is good too. No complaints.

We purchased my e-ring and our wedding bands from this store and every visit has been very positive. When we were shopping for e-rings, the sales associate was very helpful and patient with us (we spent over 5 hours in this store that day!). They have exceptional customer service and they also offer free ring cleaning every 6 months which is nice. They are the world's biggest engagement ring store and they have a massive selection of different rings, including designer brands. They are not the cheapest store, but their great customer service and selection make shopping there worth it. I would recommend this place to any couple!

Steve Wemmer of Golden Sounds Entertainment was our DJ/MC for our wedding. During the planning process, he was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He even met with us at our venue a few times to go over the lighting and room layout. We had researched several DJs and we ended up booking Steve because we liked his personality/energy and he offered us a great price for sound + lighting. At times, it was a bit hard to reach him by phone, but he always managed to get back to our messages. On our wedding day, he was very professional and did an excellent job setting up the lighting and sound equipment. The only reason we give him 4 out of 5 stars is because there were a few things that were on our schedule that he didn't follow or forgot (my FIL was supposed to give another welcome speech, prayer before meal, centerpiece game). But overall he did a great job and he got many of our guests on the dance floor, which was important to us. He made sure people were having a good time and played most of the songs we requested, except during the open dancing (I think he was judging the crowd and played what he felt was appropriate, but I would have preferred to hear some newer songs on our dance list). He was also good about following our do-not-play list. Steve is a very nice guy and he goes out of his way to try to make his clients happy. I would recommend Steve to any bride looking for a great DJ with good customer service.

City of Commerce Flowers was my favorite wedding vendor (along with my photographer). I worked with Eddie to plan the details of my wedding and he is so good at what he does. He has a lot of experience with weddings so he is very helpful when it comes to planning the perfect flowers, offering suggestions, etc. He is also very patient (our meetings would run for hours) and just an all around nice guy. He made mockups of both my centerpiece and bridesmaid bouquet before my wedding which was incredibly helpful. They did this at no charge! I was even more impressed with Commerce Flowers and with Eddie on my actual wedding day (when it really matters) because the flowers, decorations and bouquets were more gorgeous than I expected. They seriously blew me away on the day of and I received many compliments on how beautiful the flowers looked. I researched many different florists in the area, and I'm so glad I booked Commerce Flowers. They do superior work at very reasonable prices. It's no wonder they are the top rated wedding florist on Project Wedding - they are experts! I highly recommend Commerce Flowers!

I actually booked RPOV based on my friend's (also a bride) recommendation and the review below. The first time I met with Joo (the owner & main videographer) I really liked him and his sample work. He seemed honest and good at what he does. We wanted a good videographer with great editing skills and we didn't want a traditional wedding video. His work was more edgy and hip than others I have seen, and his price was reasonable. Unfortunately, Joo broke his leg a few weeks prior to my wedding and we ended up getting his associate/partner to shoot our wedding instead. His partner is not as experienced as Joo and it unfortunately showed on our wedding day. He didn't work as well with our photographer and he was not mindful of our space. We wanted our videographer to be a "ninja" but he was very noticeable at both our ceremony and reception. In fact, he is in a lot of our wedding photos which I wasn't too happy about. We haven't received our video from Joo yet, but I'm hoping the video will impress us and be excellent quality. I will try to update this review once I get the final video.
Update: March 2009
We finally received our wedding video from Joo. Overall, I am happy with the video. However, I was not too happy with the length of time it took to get our finished video (it took almost 6 months!). Joo initially gave us a delivery date of January, but we actually ended up receiving our video 2 months later... he is also slow to respond to emails/phone calls, so be warned! If you don't mind the slow delivery and response time, Joo is a good videographer who is reasonably priced.

Joey was the first vendor we booked for our wedding - we actually booked him over a year before our actual wedding date to make sure he was available! He is on the expensive side, but he is worth every penny! He is very talented and has a great personality. He was so easy to work with on our wedding day and he kept us laughing all day. Our family & friends were also very impressed with Joey on the wedding day and he also is great at getting children to smile in front of the camera which is not easy to do. He has a lot of experience with weddings (his studio shoots weddings every weekend!), and it definitely showed in the way he handled our wedding. If you are looking for a photographer who is experienced, talented and easy to work with - Joey is your guy! He is one of those vendors you can book and not worry about a thing! He also helps plan your wedding day about 3 months prior to your date which we found to be very helpful. He was definitely one of our favorite wedding vendors!
Elaine and her 2 assistants came to my hotel on my wedding day to do hair & makeup for myself, 3 bridesmaids and 1 MIL. Elaine did a great job on my hair. My makeup was pretty good too, except my eyeshadow was not quite the color I had asked for. But it didn't really matter because she made it all work and look good. Her assistants are also pretty good. My bridesmaids looked super HOT and their hair especially was gorgeous. The makeup and hair lasted all day, except for the lipstick of course. Elaine was also nice enough to lend me one of her hair pins on my wedding day for free. She is very professional and her prices are very reasonable compared to others. I researched a lot of hair & makeup vendors prior to booking Elaine, and I think she is such a good deal. My girls and I got a many nice compliments on our hair & makeup on my wedding day. Elaine is dependable, talented and affordable!

I bought my wedding dress here. The dress was originally out of the budget, but I had shopped around at various shops and this store gave me the best deal. I'm glad I got my dress here because Maggie the owner takes good care of you and also provides alterations. She used to make custom dresses so her alteration skills are pretty good. She also provided free steaming/pressing of my wedding dress a few days before my wedding so it looked ready to wear. The only reason I give her a 4 out of 5 stars is because she is the ONLY person working at this store so almost every time you go in, there is a wait because she is assisting other customers (even if you have an appointment). This is a smaller mom and pop shop and they aren't the most organized, but they do carry a great line of designer wedding dresses at better prices than you would probably find elsewhere.
