Rehearsal Dinner: Real St. Louis Italian food ‘On the Hill’. This is one of my wife’s favorite restaurants, so we picked it for the food. But the price was right too! I think we spent a little less here then we would have at the other places we looked at. Did I mention the food. OMG it was great! Service was ok, nothing spectacular. We had our rehearsal on Friday night, so it was busy and we were in a room that was a tiny bit cramped.

Standard wedding reception hall with good service upfront and great food. They were very flexible in planning and arranging the reception to your specifications. They delivered on everything they promised. I was quite impressed with the food. They offer a food preview occassionally but we didn’t attend, so I was a little worried that it wasn’t gonna turn out well, but it was all good! They were flexible in picking out the food as well, we were able to ‘mix’ and ‘match’ from a couple of menus.

I think we were pretty lucky to find him. Good price for a pretty good wedding package. We had him all day. An engagement session was included. He was really easy to work with. He personally comes to your home for a first meeting and personally delivers the prints. On the wedding day he was great to work with. Fast, easy-going, creative. I thought photos for our wedding were painless, while it has seemed like a pain in the butt in other weddings I’ve been in.

Savvi is your average chain tux store. Overall, though, they were good to do business with. We were looking for a less traditional tux (tan suit actually) and they had exactly what we wanted. And the price was ok. We were getting married right during prom season, so the place was always pretty busy when we were there, but they did make an extra effort to make sure that their wedding customers were taken care of.

We had a really good experience at Shane Co. They provide excellent customer service without any pressure or sales pitch. We did shop one other jeweler and felt like we were at a used car dealer. Not at Shane. My wife and I both got exactly the rings we wanted. They are very helpful in educating you about diamonds as well as selling them.

Pretty good overall. They had a wide selection invitations designs and printing available. We dealt with several different employees here, and each was friendly and helpful. We even made changes after initially placing the order and they were able to accommodate. There was a printing problem with the invites the first time they came, but the issues was promptly addressed and resolved at no cost to us. We picked fairly modest invites and the price was still a little more than I would have liked to pay, but I think invites are way overpriced to begin with everywhere.

It may not be the first place you think of for a honeymoon, but Maine is really a beautiful destination. We stayed at the Portland Regency hotel in downtown Portland. It is in the middle of everything! Restaurants, bars, shopping, museums, the waterfront, everything is within walking distance. It’s an upscale hotel but reasonably affordable place to stay. The room furnishings were very nice. Also there was a spa and we got a great couples massage.

Great little local flower shop in south Saint Louis. Better prices than the big guys across the street, and more personal service. The flowers were beautiful! The men’s boutineers did end up slightly different than we discussed, but they were fine. The same person we talked to in the store delivered them to the ceremony, and pinned everybody, and even hung around and help coordinate everybody getting out the door and down the aisle in an organized fashion.

If you are familiar with Tower Grove Park, then you know it’s a beautiful place to have your ceremony. However, you may not be familiar with the Stupp Center, as I was not. It’s a great little building and garden on the south east corner of the park. The garden is beautiful (great for pictures)! You have the option of either an indoor or outdoor ceremony and can make the decision at the last minute based on weather. The coordinators were friendly and helpful. Price was very reasonable. You can have ceremony and reception here with an outside caterer.

Overall I would recommend Laura at Sugar and Spice bakery highly. Prices are very fair, and with her standard prices you can get as simple or as fancy a cake as you want. We had a colorfully decorated cake with different fillings on each layer and it cost us the same as a plain cake from anywhere else. And it was absolutely delicious! It really lived up to the Sugar and Spice name, the cake had a little extra kick of flavor.
