At first, I didnt think lighting was necessary, but WOW. What an impact it makes. The chuppah was uplighted for the ceremony and it made this super romantic glow, the tables had pinspots and the cake was lighted. It made such an amazing effect in the room. If you can afford it in your budget, lighting makes your flowers and details look awesome.
We used Fleurs Du Jour on a recommendation from my brother and we could not have gone wrong. The flowers were awesome! Everything from the chuppah, to the bouquets to the centerpieces were beautiful. I cannot express enough how great they were. And the colors and styles were exactly what I envisioned. Once again, when I get pics, i will post.

Stephanie was amazing! Jack and I didnt have to worry about a single thing the day of and the weeks leading to the wedding. Stephanie took care of it all and she is so detail oriented. From the moment we met her, we were comfortable and at ease. She called and coordinated all of our vendors prior to the wedding to make sure that everything was coordinated. She handled the set up of all the details, the rehearsal of a bridal party of 18, and all the glitches that came up during the night, she took care of. We didnt have to lift a finger. She picked up our menus, programs, favors, etc. at the rehearsal so we wouldnt have to worry about anything. And the night of, she had our room cleaned and decorated with flowers and candles leading up to the bedroom. It was so beautiful and romantic. I would definitely book stephanie in a heartbeat! She was awesome.

I have to say my dress was beautiful. But there was so much drama associated with it! I ordered my dress in october at the trunk show and it came in a month early. The drama started with the first fitting. It was a strapless dress, and at the first fitting, it felt like it was not holding my boobs in....so I thought, ok, they will alter it to make it fit, not to worry....well at fitting number 4 my boobs will still falling out when i lifted my arms. They took it in, took it out, took it in, took it out. nothing was working. Then we decided we had to remake the whole top to make it go higher. We thought that would work, but NOPE! The strapless dress was still falling and not holding me in. Two weeks before the wedding and my dress does not fit. I ended up going in 5 times before the wedding (almost every day)....two days before the wedding, my boobs were still not staying in. And I do not have big boobs! Nor do I have a weird body or anything that would make it hard to fit me. They ended up on the friday before my sunday wedding putting straps on. At first i thought it would look horrible, but it looked great. The kicker was that now the dress gave me extra cleavage (which i liked :) ). So they hand delivered the dress to me on saturday evening when I checked into my hotel. I couldnt take it with me at my fitting on that saturday morning bc it still needed to be cleaned and pressed. Talk about last minute. Well it took three people to get me into the dress. Now even more drama, at the reception, the bustle broke and i spent a lot of the time fixing it....by the middle of the party i was like forget it, just safetly pin it up, i dont care what it looks like, i just want to dance and not step on it! And then....one of the straps broke!!!!! So my sister in law, broke the other strap and tied it into a halter. I just didnt care anymore! The next day I had bruises on both my shoulders and behind my neck from the straps digging into me.....The dress is definitely ruined. But it made it through the night, and my boobs did not pop out...I was not a priceless commercial!
They didnt get an F because they refunded us first the alterations cost and the next day when my mom called to tell them all the drama, they gave us 50% of the cost of the dress back. The alteration lady was also really sweet and really tried hard to make the dress work (she burst out into tears when it wasnt working). The dress ended up looking great it just wasnt comfortable and I missed some of the dancing because of it.

Casa Del Mar was great! We were originally booked at the catalina room in Palos verdes but got a call in november that it was closing and they were cancelling our wedding. Panic set in as I frantically called every location in the city! I was booked for the holiday weekend because we were having a jewish wedding and was so scared i wouldnt find that sunday open anywhere. Considering in LA, people are booking their wedding over a year in advance (we were one of those!). But it was meant to be, because casa del mar was open. My DH and I believed it was meant to be because we both grew up here on the westside and now it was like we were getting married in our backyard. It was great.
We worked with Stacey Levassuer in catering and she was definitely able to work with us. She didnt try to nickel and dime you like some hotels do. The room was small for our possible over 300 guest list (ended up being 260 thank goodness) but we had to make it work...and it did. The ballroom is beautiful. The food was amazing, the drinks were awesome, and everything went off without a hitch.
One of the bonuses were that you get a free ocean view standard room for the night of your wedding...however, stacey upgraded us to the amazing presidential suite which is two stories on the top floor overlooking the beach. IT WAS AMAZING! And now plenty of room for my bridal party of NINE girls to get ready. It was great. I checked in on the saturday and was planning to pay for one night, but I only had to pay for the price of a standard room. IT WAS GREAT! What a way to spend your first night as husband and wife.
The only reason they didnt get a 5 star is because there was a leak in the ceiling that was coming onto the dance floor.....most likely not something they would expect, but it didnt make a difference. The energy at our party was so high no one cared!
