I called for a quote from Janelle. She was quite professional, but way out of our price range.

Her cakes start at $7 a slice, but seeing what I see, probably worth it if you want a customized, special type of cake.

My fiance and I went to Bea's a couple weeks ago and it was incredibly disappointing. We made an appointment for 2 p.m. and when we got there, they didn't have ANYTHING ready for us.

Once they got the samples prepared, they wouldn't come out from behind the counter, nor would they offer us anywhere to sit. So we were in the middle of the lobby on a bench eating their cake and trying to look at the books of pictures.

The cake was alright -- sort of dry, and really, really sweet.

The person who was helping us wouldn't provide information unless we asked. She wouldn't come out from behind the counter. And she kept having to check with her manager on stuff. She tried her best but it was terrible.

I don't recommend them at all. Their prices are decent but their customer service is atrocious. And the cake is just average.

My fiance and I visited Plusko's Bakery last weekend, and my God, it was the best cake I had ever tasted! I called to make an appointment and was told that there was no appointment necessary.

Well this scared me a little bit because we had been at another location that was AWFUL so I didn't want to go down the disappointing road again.

But they didn't disappoint. They gave us samples (Free, by the way) and gave us plenty of time to go through their books.

The cake was the BEST we had tasted, and the prices are incredible. We had been somewhere else that wanted to charge us well over $500 for a cake to feed 125 people. Plesko's quoted us $258. And there cake is much better.

So, I highly recommend them. They've been around 50 years, and they seem to know how to take care of their customers...more than I can say for other places.

My bridesmaids and I went to Pebbles a few weeks ago to look at bridesmaid dresses. They have a wide selection of styles and colors, and are really quite helpful.

I have bridesmaids of different shapes and heights and it is important to me to find something universally flattering. With the help of one of the salesgirls, I found the perfect dress.

I went to the Northridge location and had a fabulous sales consultant named Barbara. She was patient, listened to what I liked and disliked and found an incredible dress which I purchased the same day.

The only negative thing I need to say is that they completely miscalculated the timing of arrival of my dress, and now I need to find somewhere to store the dress until I begin the fittings.

So, just be careful on how long they tell you it will take for your dress to arrive if you are lacking somewhere to store your dress.

UPDATE:
I picked up my dress (finally) about a week ago after it arrived many months earlier than expected.

It was in a bag with my garmet bag and undergarmets...safe and sound. The salespeople who were on shift could not have been nicer and more helpful.

My experience at the Northridge store has been nothing but quite satisfying. I will be going on March 6 for my first fitting so we'll see how it goes. :D

My wedding is booked for May 2007 at the main dining room/Garden and I can hardly wait! They do a wonderful job (I've been to events there many times), the staff is easy to work with and you have the freedom to do pretty much whatever you choose.

I'll be able to tell more after the wedding but so far so good! :D

My fiance and I went to look at Porter Valley - the location just wasn't quite what we want. The reception room is pretty, and they'll do anything you want.

We looked at having an outdoor wedding, and the ceremony site was okay. It's a little oddly shaped, but workable. We decided to go with another venue instead.

But they seem nice. In terms of expense, they have packages ranging from all inclusive (but a little limited) to rather pricey. But if you're on a tight budget, you should still be able to work within something decent.

My fiance and I have booked Mi Belle Photography out of Westlake Village for our wedding in May 2007. So far they are responsive, completely organized and wonderful to deal with! :D

Our experience so far has been terrrific. I would recommend to anyone to check them out.

He's no longer with Valley Outreach, but he's still performing ceremonies. I just signed up with him - seemed really nice!
