I was a bridesmaid at a close friend’s wedding, and Karen did her flower. Karen's sensitive to how the flowers would go with the site and even helped us coordinating our linen selections. We couldn't be more pleased, Karen totally surpassed our expectations.

I had Satura Cake’s dessert at a friend’s wedding and was very impressed. Satura Cakes’ cakes have a more delicate flavor than most cakes out there. And for a dessert bar, we felt that lighter flavor may please our guests, as they would get to sample more varieties. Our dessert bar was a hit at the wedding.

I was torn between this place and the place we eventually booked for individual desserts instead of a traditional wedding cake. Not just famous for making amazingly gorgeous cakes, Katrina Rozelle’s cakes were delicious, and the sampling varieties were generous—it would be difficult to narrow down on the cake flavor, as most were excellent, had we booked them.
We went to the Tiffany in Walnut Creek, and the salesperson was very helpful. While we were waiting for the salesperson to locate a diamond from other Tiffany locations with the spec we gave her, she offered to arrange complementary cleaning of my necklace. We did not make a purchase that day, yet the service was topnotch, as you would expect of a high-end retailer. Our subsequent return visit to the store was an equally satisfying experience.

This is the place we eventually picked for our wedding. The Julia Morgan-designed building is beautiful. Jennifer, the site coordinator, was helpful and responsive to our inquiries and needs. The only thing that may help us more was probably the parking coordination. We were provided with a list of parking garage/lot that we could contact. Non-responsive would be an understatement for some of those places. Nonetheless, I realize that this is not the fault of Berkeley City Club, as the parking entities are not associated with the club. The menu was on the conventional end; we did hope for more adventurous menu, but were required to use in-house catering. Overall we were pleased with our choice and the service provided for us.

Getting married at the Forest Hill Club House would probably feel like a very nice home wedding. I adore the interior, all the original architectural details as designed by Bernard Maybeck. The interior is dark, however charming. The ground is well-kept, with an area available for outdoor ceremony. The site fee is very affordable, and Cindy, the coordinator, was very helpful. This would have been the place for us had our guest list been shorter.

This is one of the loveliest city parks out there. The ground offers many spots for nice photo ops, such as the Japanese garden and the fountain area. However, it is impossible to control what happens in the surrounding outside of the immediate ceremony area and community hall because it is a public park. Rental rate is quite a bit more for non-resident of Piedmont, yet still not bad.

The site is scenic and beautiful, but the room is dark, probably because of all the dark wood. The rental rate for the site is reasonable, considering how expensive a site fee could be. My photographer friend also informed me that all the windows will make it difficult to document the wedding in the evening due to reflection. She did suggest to get a lot of candles or get a lighting company involved to mitigate the ambient light issue. At the end, we decided not to go with this site.
