I regret hiring Jonathan and Joanne Encarnacion of Encarnacion Photography for my wedding on 10/16/2010. I am not saying they are not nice people, because they are. Besides the fact that they lost 500+ of our wedding pictures, the way they handled it was very unprofessional and negligent. I would stick to photographers who have had many years of experience in this field and who will actually try to make things right with their client especially after such a HUGE mistake.
We weren't even told that they had lost the pictures until 2/2/2011! Almost 3 1/2 months later! I am still wondering when they actually discovered that it was missing. You'd think they would bend over backwards for us, but that was not the case at all. On 2/2/2011 Jonathan offered us a free photo album OR free services in the future. Seriously, would I really want to work with them again after that? No. They originally told us that they lost the CF card. But later when they found it on 3/7/2011, they told us they used some program that recovers missing data from CF cards. Then when I asked for our tip back, they just ignored my email and that was the last I heard from them. I do not want any couple to go through the emotional torment that we went through with Encarnacion Photography. We also had problems with them not meeting deadlines for our engagement shoot photos and our wedding CDs.
I give Encarnacion Photography credit for the good job they did on the actual day of our wedding, but all that seems irrelevant because of all the crap they put us through. Make sure you read your contract about "loss of images" with any photographer. Better yet, just make sure they don't lose any pictures.
