I'm getting married at a catholic church and having a reception here.
The reason we picked this place is because of their food, ambiance and location.
Here are some things I can point out if anybody's interested.
- This is not a big place, probably good for around 50 guests(I think).
- It's a big tent, mom and pop kind of restaurant in quiet suburb.
- Their food is excellent and they are not known for a big portion.
- Provide your own wedding cake.
- About the dance floor, I'm not sure. We'll try anyways, so I'll let you know?
- Not good for a traditional reception.
- Paul/Monique are very easy to work with, in terms of menu, budget, etc.
- Did I say their food is good?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, my big day went without any major glitch.
I came back to LABridezilla and see things has been changed since?
Firefly was an excellent choice. Cute, beautiful, friendly.
Monique and Paul are true chefs. They cook their food proudly and they serve it right. Their food is truly gourmet.
Well, unfortunately, this goes to the price. :)
(Of course, they work with your budget.)
I won't count on the price showing up here nor expect to save money to have a cheap bargain here. (I was able to find menu from other big venue cheaper than here.) Their food is gourmet and doesn't taste like "wedding food" at all.
I finished everything in my plate!
My FI wanted someone
- who will show up for sure
- who takes good candid pics(more like photojournalistic) on top of those must-shoot-posed pics
- reasonably priced (doesn't cost an arm & a leg) which is under 1k.
I called so many photographers, but either too expensive or my FI didn't like their portfolio.
Thank god to my co-worker, I found Henry. He's my co-worker's long time friend.
My FI and I met up with Henry at CoffeeBean.
I was pretty thorough just like any other bridezilla. I had sample pics I liked and a list of must-shoot-pics.
He listened very patiently, copied all those(I had them on my USB drive) to his laptop and even took memos about the details I asked him to remember.
He emailed me the contract and I asked him to make changes here and there(I'm just paranoid with things now.) He gladly did all I'd asked. Things went very smoothly and I felt bit stupid.
Most of all, his price is very reasonable because
- he's quite new in the business.
- my package doesn't include any album. just negatives in DVD.
(Henry provides the album company he's affiliated with in case you want it)
He's definitely worth to try.
I can only recommend him for this so far.
I'll update the review after my wedding(7.7.07) again. :)

I met Euri at my college friend's wedding.
She did my friend's wedding and it was beautiful.
(My FI still talks about the centerpieces which she did some kinda heart shape with greens. I don't know how to describe it.)
She is very detail oriented, very easy person to talk to.
My FI was really sad when we found out that she's already booked for our date(infamous 7.7.7). She is booked through two seasons ahead already. :(
Well, her website looks bit outdated, so contact her by email/phone.
(Oh yea, her price is very reasonable too! ;) )
