My wedding was wonderful. I don't have too write much more than that. I mean all my projects, time, money everything was worth all the trouble I went through to try and make it what I wanted. Even down to customizing my gown with the one shoulder strap! Now I know my dress is truly one of a kind and I made the right choice tweeking it :) I made it mine own. Here are some pics!!! Some from friends and family and others from my photographers sneak peak.

I made tissue poms to try and save some money on the carnation pomanders I ordered from the florist. It cut about $500 off my florist bill!I followed the instructions to make them from here on PW except I used 6" balls over 3" I needed them to be big! :)
Here is what I came up with. And then I did a mock up table...I like the results.
I made six of the small ones for the ceremony chairs (those I used the 3" balls in the pic above)
Example with the lights off to get a feel of how it will look since I can't afford pen spotting LOL.
And one more...
so I got the idea from something I saw online. I went and bought the supplies
1 yard of damask fabric - 2.99
Wipe the dust of my sewing machine lol - free! lol
spray adhesive 5.00
waterproof sealant spray 5.00
fabric paint 2.00
6 stainless steel flasks from amazon - 5.99
They came out great. My friends are drinkers and these are going to be awesome and funny bridesmaid gifts :-)
Our Love Story
FH and I paths crossed in 2001 while attending High school when FH was a senior and I was a junior. An interesting fact in the story is we lived one street over from one another from 1996-1999 and had never met before despite the fact we played outside all the time. My street was the only one FH was allowed to ride his bike on and we had mutual friends in the neighborhood. We never knew until years later. In High School a friend had class with me and knew FH. Every day my friend would walk from class to a locker that was located next to FH’s and one day I would ask ,"who is that guy?" my friend told me his name and it was game over! Soon I began randomly speaking to FH and making conversation. FH thought it was strange at first to have some random girl just speaking to him for no reason but we became friends and would walk to class every day after leaving his locker. I attended a school basketball game one day and who did she see in the bleachers? I sat with FH throughout the game and we listened to my walkman (Old School) and my new Brian McKnight CD (superhero). Once the game was over I told FH “hey you should give me your number so we can hang out sometime.” Of course FH gave me his number and after conversations on top of conversations we went out on a date. Even though FH and I shared a connection the timing wasn’t right for their relationship and we decided we would just be friends. Time past and FH went off to Stephen F Austin and I ended up attending Texas A&M University-Commerce as a freshman in college. One weekend while I was at home working I decided to call FH to see how he was doing and to my surprise he was in town. Both being newly single we decided to hang out. One thing lead to another and in 2004, FH and I began dating again. Time passed and we ended up transferring to The University of Texas Arlington together and started a new chapter. Changes occurred over time and for one reason or another we decided to take a break once more. Over the years we kept in touch whether it would be hanging out from time to time, or just chatting on the phone. Life went on and we tried to remain friends but we always just ended up falling for one another and we saw no point in being apart any longer. In 2008 we made the decision that we didn’t want to be without each other and decided get back together. Time went by and we have been happy with one another ever since.
FH proposed to me late one evening after a night out on the town. We had gone out for a casual dinner and shortly after we went dancing (if you know FH you know he doesn’t dance so this is a big deal). When we returned home I attempted to share some information with FH on my computer and FH knelt beside the bed to take a look and in his hand he held a ring and asked for my hand in marriage. It was a beautiful evening and now we are set to get married 7/28/2011.
I am very excited about our honeymoon. After speaking with the travel agent for weeks and weeks...we thought we had narrowed it all down to Barbados, Dominican Republic and Aruba...so we get there and everything within out budget just wasn't up to par (we are very spoiled in service and amenities). We have been to Mexico before so of course our mind set was, we want to try something new. We can't afford Europe and we are not fans of Hawaii...so the travel agent talked us into Mexico lol. Which it didn't take much because WE LOVE MEXICO! We are going to an area that we have never been to before though. I mean...for all inclusive, prestine beaches and great nightlife...you really can't get a better price than Mexico vacations. So I am very pleased with our resort. The El Dorado Royale, one year it was ranked among the top 100 resorts in the world! And it has the AAA 4 diamond award as well...SUPER EXCITED!
Stay tuned for actual Honeymoon pics in August when we return! :)
