Boudoir Even though the shoot was a lot of money, it was well worth it! Danielle was originally my wedding photographer until she found out she was pregnant and due around my wedding day. I was really glad to have a chance to work with Danielle after all since I LOVE her work. Tess did an awesome job on my makeup! I was going for a 40's starlet look but was worried how it'd look on an Asian and she really captured it! Danielle did such a great job in making me feel comfortable and making me look hot!! I gave the pics to DH as a wedding gift and DH was floored by the pics! He loves them! I highly recommend doing boudoir with Danielle and Skye Blu Photography!

Posted for Ian: Very polite and helpful. Didn't push the most expensive suits in the store. The salesman actually ended up recommending something off the clearance rack. I ended up with a 100% wool, Italian made suit with shirt, tie and socks for $150.

High Tea for Bridemaid's Luncheon The food and service at the Peninsula Beverly Hills were awesome! They don't treat you poorly because you are young like some other ritzy tea places. Everything was fantastic and we saw Simon Cowell from "American Idol" so that was a fun moment together! Parking is valet only. Definitely make a reservation in advance.

Royal Accessories

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
During the brief time I was considering wearing a veil during the reception, I bought a pencil-edged elbow-length veil from Royal Accessories. It cost me $15!! Even though I didn't wear the veil, my co-worker also bought the same veil at this store and wore it to her wedding. It turned out beautiful! I have to admit that the veil is not really high quality but you can't beat their prices and you really can't tell. Even when I saw my co-worker upclose during her wedding, the veil looked great! If you're on a budget, I would totally recommend checking this place out. They also care tiaras, flower baskets, articial flower petals, and other wedding accessories.

CAKE (5 stars): AquaFuzion provided the cake for my wedding. Their cakes are provided by a baker who works at a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Southern California. A tasting was included after we signed the contract. The tasting went really well. Though I didn't meet the actual baker, Debbie and Sandy were very attentive to my feedback. On the wedding cake, they coordinated delivery (they were also my wedding coordinators) and everything went smoothly. The cake was beautiful! We got a 3-tier cake for 150 people. The top & middle tiers were chocolate with vanilla custard filling. The bottom tier was vanilla sponge cake with mocha rum filling. The cake was gorgeous and delicious! I only wish I could have eaten more of it! http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/nonpro/reception04.jpg FLOWERS (4 stars): The flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I pretty much knew what I wanted in terms of flowers but Debbie and Sandy had some creative and wonderful ideas too. They never shot down my ideas like some other florists I met with. They're very open to your ideas and making them work well together. They do charge for sample centerpieces and bouquets though. On the day of the wedding, almost everything was exactly as I wanted and the centerpieces and bouquets actually looked BETTER than the samples! The only thing that was not perfect was that the aisle runner was shorter than we agreed on. The day after the wedding Debbie e-mailed me to apologize about it, even though I didn't mention it. She said her staff brought the wrong aisle runner and she was so busy overseeing the setup of the reception and coordinating my helpers that she didn't see the aisle runner until guests were already seated and the ceremony was about to start so she had no time to improvise. This was the only thing that didn't go according to plan and NONE of my guests noticed. DH tells me it wasn't a big deal but I'm a perfectionist so I was disappointed. However, I still more than recommend her services. Everything went SO well and I still hear from my guests on how beautiful everything was! I know that a lot more could have gone wrong and these things happen. http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/propics/bouquets.jpg http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/propics/pomanders.jpg http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/propics/aisledecor.jpg http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/nonpro/reception01.jpg http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/propics/centerpiece.jpg COORDINATOR (4 stars): Everything went SO smoothly the day of the wedding but I think Debbie may have been a little bit overwhelmed by doing coordination and floral services since I had a lot of flowers. My helpers and DH had a hard time locating her before the ceremony because she was setting up the reception. The day after the wedding, Debbie sent me a detailed e-mail about what she was doing on the day of my wedding. It was helpful for me to understand what was going on throughout the day. I know she wasn't slacking and was genuinely doing as much as she could. The incident before the ceremony was the only problem that came up. I still highly recommend her services! INVITATIONS (4 stars): I absolutely LOVE my invitations! They did a great job in making it look exactly like the sample I gave them from another company that wanted to charge a lot more $$$ plus I was able to have the writing thermographed! The only problem that came up was that she gave me 100 envelopes, instead of 175 envelopes, on accident. When I told her, she mailed out the extra envelopes to me immediately so she was very fast in fixing the problem. Debbie was really flexible. She even let me change something right before the invitations were about to be printed and let me add printing the addresses on my RSVP envelopes after my initial order. I would totally recommend her to anyone! If you are DIYing your invitations, AquaFuzion also will print your invitations for you in thermography. http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/invitationset.jpg CHAIR COVERS (5 stars): My chair covers were exactly as I wanted them! When we had our walkthrough at Westlake Village Inn to discuss flowers, she brought a sample chair cover with her so I got to see it in the reception room on the actual chairs. It was really cool. Everything went perfectly smooth the day of the wedding for rentals.

Pressed Flowers

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
I wanted to preserve my bridal bouquet but didn't like the style or have the room to keep a full freeze-dried bouquet. I was very happy to find a place that would press the flowers of my bouquet! Pressed Flower Gallery did a great job! They pressed the flowers from my bouquet and then rearranged them back into the shape of a bouquet. They even framed it with the original ribbon that my bouquet was wrapped in! I'm very happy with their service and highly recommend them.

Jen is absolutely super! She and her assistant Melissa shot our engagement pictures and our wedding. They are both sweethearts and make you feel really comfortable in front of the camera. Jen specializes in photojournalism but she takes awesome posed/formal shots too! They did a great job! There were some shots that I thought they would have missed but they got everything and were always in the right place at the right time! Highly recommended!

Steven did an awesome job on my invitations! His work is absolutely breathtaking and he did some of my envelopes in Chinese and Korean! There were light pencil lines on the envelopes but I easily erased them. http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/calligraphy01.jpg http://ladyrebecca.com/wedding/bio/calligraphy03.jpg

Raffi helped us pick out our wedding bands. He was absolutely great! Even though I was looking at a much more expensive band, when we decided on a less expensive band, he didn't pressure us to buy the expensive one. He was very helpful and everything went smoothly. We went during their 20% off sale. I highly recommend doing that. We got a white gold band and titanium band with engraving for $310. They also gave us a stainless steel travel band for free as part of the promotion!

Lobster King Restaurant

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Even though our rehearsal was held in Westlake Village and our wedding party was staying there as well, we wanted to have a Chinese rehearsal dinner since we weren't having a Chinese banquet for our reception. After trying several recommended Chinese restaurants in Ventura Country, we couldn't find any place that was great so we decided to have our rehearsal dinner in Alhambra. Lobster King was great! They gave us two large tables in front of the Phoenix & Dragon wall. (They don't have private rooms.) They were really accommodating when came an hour earlier than our reservation and we asked to start the banquet earlier. The food was fantastic and service was great! Plus, the location has plenty of free parking.

Spa Mystique

( 2.0 / 5.0 )
Bachelorette Party / Spa Day I absolutely LOVE going to Spa Mystique. It's one of my favorite spas but it's NOT a good place for groups, especially a group of chatty girls. The place is really quiet and everyone goes there by themselves or with one other person. So when there's a group of 6 girls who are chatting and laughing in the jacuzzi, we got a lot of mean stares by other spa-goers and staff. We weren't treated well at all, which is a big deal because when I go there by myself, they treat me SO well. The good thing about Spa Mystique is that they have a $30 admission fee to use the facilities like the pool, jacuzzis, sauna, steam room, and showers. This was great for the girls who were financially strapped and couldn't book treatments (all over $100). Anyway, Spa Mystique is great to go by yourself or with ONE friend (not a "loud" friend) but not good for groups. If you are thinking about doing a Spa Day, go to Glen Ivy in Corona. It's like a spa theme park and PERFECT for groups.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
If you are planning to have a Bachelorette Spa Day, I would totally recommend Glen Ivy in Corona. It's outdoors so you don't have to worry about being too noisy and it's just a great setting for a group. It's also good if your girls are on a budget because you just pay one flat admission fee and you have access to the mud bath, mineral springs, and jacuzzis. So you don't have to worry about girls feeling left out because they can't afford a treatment. Just keep in mind that it is outdoors. My Bachelorette Party was originally planned at Glen Ivy but it was March and it was cancelled because of rain. Even though Glen Ivy has several locations, the one in Corona is the only one like this.

RECEPTION REVIEW (4 stars): Westlake Village Inn is awesome! When we decided to book WVI, I was a bit miffed that they weren't will to negotiate anything but we booked them anyway because the location is just so gorgeous. During the planning process, the catering manager was very responsive to my e-mails and worked with my requests. Even though we got one of their standard wedding packages, they were more than willing to customize the dinner and everything to what we wanted. The only reason why I've not giving them an A+ is because 6 weeks before my wedding, my catering manager left and I couldn't get a hold of anyone (not even her boss) for 2 weeks. It was extremely stressful. Finally, her replacement started. I was still worried because Colleen was new but when I met her the week before my wedding, she really had her act together. Colleen MAJORLY came through for us that day. She coordinated the ceremony and really pulled things together when some problems before the ceremony arose but my wedding coordinator wasn't around because she was setting up the reception. Colleen was wonderful! On the day of the wedding, the staff's service was 5-star. Apparently, there wasn't enough hors d'eourves and chocolate fountain but that was our fault for not ordering enough. My only complaint is that there were significantly less clams in our linguine with clams dish than at our tasting but it wasn't that big of a deal. Honestly, I chose this place because of how it looks, not for the food. Also, we paid WVI $2000 in advance for bar and they were very honest about consumption. They refunded us $500 at the end of the night because our guests didn't drink that much! HOTEL REVIEW (5 stars): Westlake Village Inn is gorgeous! My package came with a Courtyard Room but I upgraded it to a Mini Suite. If you're planning to get ready in the room, I would totally recommend booking a Mini Suite. I had 3 BM's, 1 friend, 2 makeup/hair people, 1 videographer, 2 photographers, and 2 mom's in my room at one time! You'll need the space! It's also really romantic for your wedding night. There's a fireplace and jacuzzi tub! The room was gorgeous. The Courtyard Rooms are nice too. Our wedding party stayed in Courtyard Rooms and they overlooked the golf course and lake! WVI is really flexible with the room block too. They don't force you to pay for leftover rooms as long as you allow them to release the rooms 30 days before your wedding. So my guests still got the discount even though we couldn't fill all 10 rooms.

Cookie Cutter Favors We decided on the favors early on so I waited until they were on sale before buying them and got 60% off regular price! The cookie cutters were backordered and took 3 months to arrive though. I'm really glad that I ordered them WAY in advance. The favors themselves were great! They come in packaging so you don't need to decorate them but I decided to use my own wrapping. The only reason they don't get an A+ is because it took so long to get them. Reception Table Cameras Grade: B+ I also waited until the disposable cameras were on sale before getting them. Unlike the favors, they came right away. They also come with a little sign to put next to each camera so your guests know what it's for and don't take them home. I had 14 tables and put 2 cameras on each table (total of 28 cameras). Out of the 28 cameras: I took home 25, a guest took home 1, and 2 were unused. Out of the 25 cameras, I should have had 675 pictures. I had them all put on photo CD's to save money on development and it cost about $200 at Target. I got back 424 pictures so 38% of the photos could not be developed. See the pictures here. It's still a lot of pictures and there were a ton of great shots of my guests. My main complaint is that quality and nearly all the pics are really dark, despite the built-in flash on the camera. Despite that, I would definitely do it again just for those great shots of my guests since those are things you hardly see in professional pictures from your photographer. However, if I did it again, I would find a way to encourage guests to take pictures of other guests and not take pictures of me and DH since that's what our photographer is for.
