On the evening of November 28, 2009, our one year anniversary, it was a beautiful, cold night in Clearwater Beach. The stars were bright and the music was relaxing as we ate dinner at a small restaurant behind the Sandpearl Resort. Tropical fish and fruit, fresh drinks and the smell of the ocean air, dinner was wonderful. After desert, we decided it was too dark to walk along the beach, so we took a stroll down Mandalay Avenue. We approached Pier 60, passing latenight beach goers. The vendors and crouds were begining to disipate as the sun had just fallen beyond the horizon. We walked on, leaving the commotion behind us and approaching the darkness of the open sea (upon which we met one year ago). As we approached the end of the pier we began to recant our past year together. Almost on cue the pier cleared, we were alone, Matthew fell to one knee and explained how great the past year was and he could imagine how amazing the next 100 years would be with us together. He then reached into his pocket to reveal the explanation of his emotion, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Later we realized and kind of bummed we didn't take any pictures on the Pier! But we took some at our celebration after!
We met on November 28, 2008 in the middle of the ocean 1/2 way to Mexico! My family decided we were not cooking for Thanksgiving and going on a cruise instead! As my mom and I layed out on the cruise deck enjoying the sun Matt's parents decided out of the entire open deck that they wanted to sit by us! Later Matt and his brother joined them. We did not talk for a while but he overheard my mom and I negotiating the rediculous prices of drinks and decided to pass on that round. Minutes later the waiter comes back and delivers us drinks saying it was sent by the guy next to us. We started talking and the rest is history. We spent the rest of the cruise together and he extended his stay in Florida an extra week. He was already living in South Carolina at the time but his parents were only 1 1/2 hours away from where I lived. Fortunately he got to come back home a lot to cover an account in Florida. Only 3 months later we decided we did not want to be apart anymore and I moved to South Carolina.
Our wedding is September 4, 2010 at the Marriott in Greenville, SC. Since the weather will be beautiful we are having it outside in their pool area. We are so excited to have all our friends and family come in town from Florida and Michigan
