Today Don and I went down to our chuch (where we met) and took some pictures. We're planning an engagement party on Feb 25th and we didn't think that a professional photographer would have E-Pics back to us in time. So we got dressed up and just staged a few shots that I think (for a digital camera and a couple of tips that I found online) came out pretty good. What do you think...
There must be something in the air. It seems like everyone that I know has marriage on their minds. A co-worker is getting married, one of the mom's at my son's school, my friend's sister and now my very own little cousin. I remember when he was born and now he's a grown man facing marriage. He surprised his girlfriend Krystal with a proposal at a local nightclub and SHE SAID YES!!!
Congrats again guys.....
Here's the ring! He has great taste...just like his big cousin :)
I decided to remove the brown from the color scheme and add black. It just seams a little more sophisticated.
We called off our engagement last year (and by "we" I really mean "me")....It's a long story. Marriage is such a big step and I just had to make sure that I was ready.
So, I told Don that I wanted a new e-ring because in the time that he had proposed to now I had begun to see my ring popping up everywhere and I never like to feel like I'm following a trend or a group of people all doing the same thing. So Don took me to a local jewelry store and let me pick a new ring. I purposley avoided the "engagement ring" section because I wanted something that I wouldn't see on every other finger. I went to the gemstone section and selected a 14k yellow gold amethyst stone surrounded by .25k of diamonds. I love it...I don't get that "cookie-cutter" "mass produced" feel from it... and it reminds me of a timeless heirloom. I can see myself as a grandmother passing this ring on to a future generation.
