Taka was the florist for our August 16th wedding and I LOVED HIM. Not only is he extremely professional, he is also extremely talented. Our colors were chocolate brown and pink. He decorated our ceremony site with arrangements of different shades of pink hydrangeas, roses, and orchids. The bouquets he made were stunning. The center pieces for the reception were so lovely, that all of the guests took them home! You will not be disappointed if you hire Taka at Be Buds.

I went to Alicia's twice. I was a bridesmaid for a friend who wanted me to make my own dress. My friend provided the fabric, but I have no idea how to sew. I took the fabric to Alicia and she made me a great dress for $140.00. When I was a bridesmaid again for another friend, I took the dress to be alter to Alicia. Since I am short I just needed a couple of inches cut off the bottom and the strapes taken in. Again, she did a great job. Alicia does have a unique personality. For example when I took the second dress to her to be altered I came in 2 months before the event. She said I could pick it up three days before the wedding and didn't tell me how much it would cost. I didn't ask because I had such a great experience with her before, I knew she would have it on time and charge me a fair price. And just like I thought, it was ready when I went in and she charged me $40.00. I am getting married in August and am getting my dress altered at the place where I am buying it. Maybe you don't want to take you wedding dress to Alicia, but I would definitly recommend her for bridesmaids dresses.

Damon was the DJ at our August 16th wedding and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was the first DJ we interviewed. He was extremely professional and answered all of our questions. We decided to hire him right there for the ceremony and wedding reception. When we started having problems picking out some of the songs we needed (processional, recessional, etc.), he let us meet with him again to give us advice and he even burned us a cd with possible music choices for us to think about. On the day of he wedding, he did everything we planned on. He set up at the ceremony and played everything that we had talked about. After the ceremony, he moved his equipment to the reception hall. He was a great mc, not cheesy like other posters have said, and he helped keep the reception moving. He played all of the songs we wanted and he read the crowd perfectly to keep everyone on the dance floor. He is terrific...you will not regret hiring him as your DJ.

Nayeli Sanchez and her co-worker (whose name I have lost) really saved the day for me. My wedding was on Aug. 16th, 2008. In Feb. of 2008 I hired a different person to style my hair and make-up, as well as the hair and make-up of my five bridesmaids. The Monday before the wedding this other hair and make-up stylist canceled on me due to health reasons. Thankfully, she arranged for Nayeli and her co-worker to cover for her. I was really worried that they wouldn't be able to recreate what I wanted since I had done my trial with this other person. They showed up an hour early to insure they would have enough time to make everything perfect for me and my girls. They were able to recreate the style that I had wanted and, in my humble opinion, I looked the best I ever have. They were extremely professional and I highly recommend them.

Karri and Courtney are my heroes! My fiance and I originally hired them to help us plan our August 2007 wedding. We were planning for 200 guests and had no idea where to start. They helped us find the photographer, florist, DJ, and location in a matter of months. It was so wonderful. Then, about three months before the wedding, we had a family emergency. It was the toughest decision we have ever had to make, but we knew we had to postpone the wedding. I was so afraid that Karri and Courtney would be upset, but they were extremely professional. They helped us contact all of the vendors we had lined up and got them to use our deposits that we had already given them for a new date. When we were ready to start planning again, they called all of the vendors again and set up the new date for us. It was such a stressful time for us, I don't know what we would have done without them. On the day of the wedding, they took care of everything. One of the groomsmen lost a button and Courtney had a sewing kit and mended it for him. My sister got a stain on my dress and Courtney was right there with a clean wipe. When I was getting ready to walk down the aisle, I almost forgot my bouquet, but Courtney was right there to hand it to me. The reception went so smoothly because of all the planning they put into the schedule for the wedding. Like I said before, they are my heroes!

Let me start off by saying that Calamigos is a beautiful property. We had looked at a lot of places in our price range, but Calamigos is the one that had the look that we liked. It has a big park/garden feel to it. We had our ceremony at the Little White House and had our reception at the Grand Prix Ballroom. We had about 160 guests. Annah and Robin were the two people we talked with the most when renting the place and they were professional. Although they provide a coordinator for you when you rent the facility, we hired our own coordinators and they dealt with Calamigos for us after the intial renting process. The only thing that was frustrating was that there were a lot of surprises on the day of the wedding. My coordinators had sent them a lot of information on the schedule that we wanted, but on the wedding day, we were told that the ceremony had to start at 6:30p, even though, IN OUR CONTRACT, we had the Little White House starting at 6:00p and had sent out all of the invitations SAYING that the wedding would be at 6:00p because that is what the contract said. I still don't really understand why we had to start at 6:30p. It had something to do with our reception having to start at 7:00p and them not wanting the guests at the ballroom a second before 7:00p. They have a certain way they do things (that they don't disclose until the actual day, in contravention of the language of the contract) and they are not compromising or accommodating. I would highly recommend getting a coordinator of your own to help look over the contract and make sure that things get done the way you want them. The venue itself was actually very nice. The food was delicious, the service was great. It really is a night I will always remember.
