Alex and I have been friends for years, and I never would have thought we would end up together. I had always held him in high regard and as a good guy. At one point I tried to hook him up with my now co-maid of honor. They never dated, and now I am engaged to a marvelous man, who I love very much! I met Alex in Missouri where I grew up. I moved to Florida to pursue residency there and eventually school. While I lived there, Alex and some other friends of ours came and visited. During the course of this visit, Alex and I realized we were attracted to one another. Nothing came of it, in fact we at one point stopped talking altogether as to not lead one another on. While I did not talk to him, I dated a guy who in simple turns, "did me wrong." I came back to Missouri for holiday right before I knew I would move back, and Alex immediately asked to date me. I refused in the wake of the unpleasant relationship. That lasted a total of a day and half, it would have probably been less had the full day not been on Christmas and I had familial obligations. We were together before I even moved back and can honestly say with out his wonderful support and love I would not still be living in Missouri. We have been together a year and half.
We recently went on a trip to Yosemite National Park in California. We are avid hikers and planned to dominate Half Dome, as has been a life goal of mine since seeing the imposing mountain as a young adolescent. On the subdome, in a secluded spot with a gorgeous view; my wonderful boyfriend asked me to marry him. The eight miles down the mountain where in more ways than one much better than the eight miles up it!
