Longhorn Cookie Favors for each guest!

Stephanie's Cakes and Moore will be providing our favors.  They will be sugar cookies with white icing and our names and wedding date.  Stephanie is so awesome... she's even going to wrap them for me.  :-)

I want to add a tag to the wrapped cookies with something like this:

MAIDS OF HONOR

Ok, so this isn't the best picture or anything, but it's the closest I could find online.  I went to Alfred Angelos today so I could have my MOHs try on a few dresses.  We ended up doing the "Separates" collection and making our own.  I'm very excited to see how they will turn out.  The style is the one below, however, we are going to have a burnt orange ribbon on the top and the entire gown will be ivory.

BRIDESMAIDS

Again, not the best picture in the entire world but you get the point. My BM will be wearing all burnt orange and the ribbon will be ivory.

Day of:

FLOWERGIRL

I went flower girl dress shopping and I found the most perfect dress at Croqueta's at the mall in Brownsville.  They have absolutely gorgeous dresses there, but none of them came with a burnt orange sash.  My mom is a pretty good semstress, so she plans on using the blue ribbon it came with as a pattern to make a burnt orange sash.  Then we are going to top it off with a nice fake flower like in the inspiration picture above.  October 16th - My flower girl got to try on her dress.  Not only did it fit her perfectly, she LOVED the dress!  She looks so beautiful in it and didn't want to take it off.  Lol.  I can't wait to see it all come together with the sash and flower.

BRIDEMAIDS/FLOWERGIRL GIFTS

Clutch. From mabellecherie on etsy. Of course, the colors will be different.  They will take about 6 - 8 weeks to come in since they are handmade.  So, now we play the waiting game.  :-)

Jewelry.  I will also be getting them pearl earrings, a pearl necklace with a cross, and a pearl bracelet (which is currently being made by my future aunt).

Flip flops.  I have finally completed the girls' flip flops.  I love the way they turned out.  I hope they like them, too!

Pashminas.  I ordered these pashminas from Peach Courture just a couple days ago for the girls!  They are on sale for $9.95.  Can't beat that!  Hopefully, they are decent quality.  We shall see soon!

Build-A-Bear.  I made this Build-a-Bear Longhorn for my flower girl.  It will come with the UT-Longhorn Cheerleader attire and pom-poms.  Super cute!

The final product:

The card reads, "Today I marry the one I love and life will never be the same. Still I know you're there for me if I should call your name.  You've been the best friend you would be and always shown you've cared, and still I will treasure evermore these happy memories we have shared.  I appreciate your kindness and support and all the things you do.  I'm so glad that I can say, I have a friend like you. Thank you for being my bridesmaid and celebrating our new start.  Please accept this token of gratitude from the bottom of my heart.  -  Love, Deena"

PS:  I didn't make up the poem myself; I found it either on PW or google.

Thanks to Stephanie's Cakes and Moore, I will be getting my UT Tower bridal cake after all!!  It's going to look like the picture, however, the tower and the two bottom layers will be white.  The windows will be lit up to say "1-15-11" and the longhorns on the bottom will be in orange.  The inside will be double layers of vanilla and chocolate.

The Grooms' cake will be spice cake with buttercream frosting.  FI is a huge Texans fan, so he decided to get the Texans logo as his cake.  He is very excited about this.

IN ACTION.  On my wedding day!  I got SO many compliments on our cakes.  Everyone wanted Stephanie's card.

                                Jersey Guest Book

My FI and I decided to stick with our "UT Longhorn"

theme and have our guests sign a Longhorn football jersey

instead of the usual guest book.  That way after the wedding,

I can frame our "guest book" and put it up in my UT

               inspired office!

                        UPDATE!

My Jersey came in today!  I ordered it

from the University Co-Op and it came

within 10 days!  I think it's going to be

absolutely perfect!  Now if I can only

remember to take the marker!  Lol.

FI and I are HUGE University of Texas - Longhorns fans, so we decided to throw that into our wedding inspiration.  Hence, the burnt orange and ivory.  Here's an inspiration board I created with some of the ideas we have for our wedding:
