The proposal took place on a wonderful evening just before sunset at the house Nick's family owns that is located on Lake Michigan. We had spent nearly two weeks at the house on Lake Michigan were I had finally gotten to know his family much better considering we did not get to see them very often because they live up north and we live in the south. I started out the trip to Michigan thinking that he may propose while we were there but as the trip was coming to an end I had given up and figured he was not going to propose while we were there. Near the end of our vacation in Michigan Nick's brother Jeremy showed up at around 2am one night. The following evening we along with the rest of his family that was there were gathered on the porch to watch the sun set. There were not enough seats so we were standing. Nick all the sudden starting hugging me from behind then he turned me around got down on one knee and asked asked me to Marry Him. This rendered me speechless for nearly a minute in that time I just nodded yes until I could make out the word.
So we are going to have 2
1) We are going to have a 2013 calendar where all of our guests can fill in important dates such as their birthdays and anniversaries
2) a wish box like the one below with paper so our guests can write some little thoughts to us because that would not fit if we only had the calendar.
With 2012 hand written by my mom and I.. We are going to buy them after christmas this year...
Well we have decided finally on the wedding at least generally
we are going to have a short version Catholic Mass officiated by an Army Catholic priest (he was the head pastor at my church for many years) this will help in getting all the military parts perfectly correct and have access to everything we need for that. He agreed to the catholic ceremony because either way I was going to make him go through the process either way so it will be recognized by the church.
(the colors of the army dress blues)
and red because we are getting married right before christmas so my church will be decorated already and hello save in the budget area
all enlisted members in bridal party will wear their dress blues while everyone else will wear a navy blue tux matching the jacket of the dress blues (you can't tell in this picture but the jacket and pants are two different colors) with the same color vest and a black bow tie.
there is no set idea but these are the two general ideas.. Plus my venue will do them for free so I will not complain with what ever I get
(as close to color of dress blue pants)
with silver shoes
Davids bridal style # 83707
This is look I am looking for but the bouquets will be smaller
This is all I have for now but Im on the look out for a great simple but classic BM shoes in the colors
Nick is the most amazing person in the world. No one has ever made more happy then him and no one ever will. Our dating relationship has been pretty short compared to most of you guys, but we have known each other for about 3yrs. He is a Cavalry Scout in Georgia Army National Guard and Planning to commission as a Second Lieutenant in either Artillery(1st choice) or Military Intelligence (2nd choice) in December 2012. We are both currently in college studying Political Science, I am planning to be a mediator or a lobbyist for the medical field and he plans to go to law school to become a lawyer in cooperate law and one day a judge and/or politician. We have many plans for the future and we nothing different then have the other by our side. When we talk about the future in terms of kids and finances we agree on everything. He treats me like no man has ever treated me before. I can't wait to marry him.
