I have seen tons of adorable cake toppers around the internet and on wedding blogs I frequent, I became obsessed and decided I had to make my own. We found all the supplies at A.C. Moore and pulled some inspiration photos from blogs and got to work. We sanded down the little wooden people and lightly sketched in pencil what we would paint. This is only stage one, I still need to add some little rhinestones to the dress as well as some tulle in the hair and around the bottom to make a skirt. We also purchased a little oval pedastal to place the figures on. So far I"m really happy with how they are turning out. Such an easy fun project!

We worked on the topper a little more and added a few details, earrings, rhinestones, and a skirt to her, and suit lines, glasses, and hair color change to him. Oh and we added a gloss finish to give them a nice shine. All that is left is to put them on their little round pedastal so they can sit on the cake. Love them!

Was shopping around the mall yesterday and I found my rehersal dress! I can hardly believe we have less than 2 months left until the wedding. Where has the time gone? I figured it was time to get looking but wasn't sure I would find anything, Banana Republic to the rescue. I found a handful of dresses that looked good, I had the fiance meet me and help narrow it down to one. And the winner is:

And it's yellow, not something I would normally pick, but it's one of the wedding colors and it's so bright and fun. I'm really excited to wear it and even more excited that the wedding is just around the corner!

My whole family has been pitching in to help out with our wedding, and it has been just amazing to see their talents shine! My Dad was kind enough to offer up his services and create some really wonderful table numbers. I had seen a picture of some raw wood burned table numbers and was just smitten. My Dad just recently finished this project and sent me a long pictures of the finished product, I'm beyond thrilled. I can't wait to see everything put together and I"m so proud of all the time and care our family has so kindly put into our big day.

My mom is a big crafter and she has been so helpful with all the diy projects I've wanted to tackle. One of the very first projects that she took on was making a ring bearer pillow for my nephew. She has been crocheting since before I can remember so this was the perfect choice. I found the project on Once Wed's website and sent it along and within a week my mom had created something almost identical to the picture. We decided to use gray ribbon to tie in with our color scheme, and I just happened to have some left over from our save the dates. I am also going to steal this idea I saw and put two ring pops on the pillow. I figure it will be cute and also keep my four and a half year old nephew entertained for a short amount of time.

As of last night our invitations have been ordered! I'm so excited to have them designed and ready to be printed. I don't know about anyone else, but does having the invitations ready to go make things seem more real? I guess I'm just surprised at how fast the wedding day is approaching. Knowing the invites are going out in the mail soon makes everything more real and exciting!

I would highly recommend checking out the site 123print. The price point just can't be beat, I honestly think it might be around the same cost as at home printing or other diy invitation suites. We ended up ordering 75 invites and rsvp cards (which include envelopes for both) and the grand total was under $80. We used a coupon code which let us take a whopping 20% off our total. I want to say the invites ened up being about the same cost as our diy save the dates.

Here is the design we chose from the site, we customized with our own wording and details.

Dave is almost completely outfitted for the wedding. He splurged a little and got a Hugo Boss suit, but I think it is so sweet that he wants to look good for our big day. He got a black modern fit suit. We just need to get him his shirt and tie. We also scored some great shoes on sale at Macy's this past weekend. Bostonian black andover style shoes that will finish off his classic look perfectly.
