I am very blessed with the most wonderful sisters and mother who arranged this wonderful bridal shower for me last Friday evening (most unexpected, i thought bridal showers are usually on Saturdays...)
We had a wonderful evening.
This white and pink party dress was waiting for me in the guesthouse where i changed.
Enjoy the pics.
Only 6 more weeks to go before it is the big day!
I am so excited, we had the final meeting at our venue this past weekend and i really think our wedding is going to be something special.
Special but expensive i might add :)
Honeymoon plans are also completed, we are going for 11 glorious nights to Constance Moofushi resorts in the Maldives, we are departing the day after the wedding and will be back in South Africa on 23 December, just in time for Christmas.
For my honeymoon i always dreamt of this beautiful bungalow on the beach with swaying palm trees in a warm tropical location and being spoiled to bits and we are fortunate enough to be able to have our dream.
I plan to spend serious quality time with my new husband and to laze around, snorkeling a bit, reading and coming back to our senses after all the stress of the wedding.
Wonder if my family is planning a bridal shower for me ;)
Here are some pics of the invitations.
The wedding invitations were designed by my good friend, Leno Oosthuizen from Lenomedia Graphic Designs
The wording is in Afrikaans, translated into English:
"Together with our family it is with great pleasure that we invite you to our wedding"
I treated my 5 girls to a wonderful weekend in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
We stayed at "The Bushbaby Inn" in Pretoria and loved every minute of it.
The Friday night we had a delectable 5 course degustation menu at a french fine dining restaurant (in honour of my french themed wedding), Brasserie de Paris. We had our own private dining room and the meal lasted for 4 hours :).
The Saturday we went to Menlyn Park Shopping Mall, one of the biggest in SA for a bit of retail therapy and Dinner on Saturday night was a Thai feast at Lotus Thai, my Mai Thai was exceptional ;)
Sunday was spent shopping and we had afternoon tea at the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg that was alas not quite up to the standard of previous hotels i visited :(, but we still had a blast!
It was precious time having so much fun with my bridesmaid and i will always treasure the memory in my heart.
I am learning to speak french and love Paris and all things french :) My fiance's name is also Frans which means french in the Afrikaans language.
So we are having a french fête!
The colours are parisian blue with touches of silver, ivory, pink and purple.
I would like to keep things formal with lots of flowers, candles and crystals.
The wedding will be held at Bona Bona Game Lodge - www.bonabona.co.za. The lodge is about 40 minutes drive away from my home town. The lodge is the epitone of all things africa, very beautiful with plenty of animals like rhinos, giraffes etc. This venue is so great because there is accommodation available for guests who want to stay over. Most of the family and friends are staying the whole weekend. This means that we will start the celebrations the Friday evening already with rehearsal dinner and end things the Sunday morning with a breakfast.
The reception will be held in the chapel and then the guests will have a hour long cocktail hour on the terrace overlooking a water hole where canapes and cocktails will be served. To enhance the french feeling there will be a french accordian player and a artist doing caricature sketches of the guests.
The reception will also have french touches with a french menu and a croquembouche for dessert!
We would like to have formal yet relaxed wedding where everyone have a great time
Photos were taken by the talented Neil Kemp from Kem Photography in Potchefstroom. The photos were taken by the old train station and at a derelict factory.
It was so much fun!
