Mott Visuals

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Justin Mott is a truly unique photographer. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he has a view of the world that is only his. He brought a personal touch to our wedding photos and fit in beautifully on the wedding day. His journalistic style meant that our wedding photos were truly ours, not some impression of what wedding photos should be or a copy of what everyone else's photos are. I would highly recommend Justin for any bride and groom. You will get stunning photos from a professional who is fun, caring and great to work with.

Premier Catering

( 3.0 / 5.0 )
We had an absolutely perfect experience with Premier up until the wedding day. Premier provided all our linens, dishes, glassware, food, dance floor and service staff. The food was great and our guests were well fed. But we had issues with the day-of execution. I think several things contributed to the problems that arose. First, the coordinator did not attend on the wedding day. This was the point person Id met several times and worked through all the details with, and her absence left a hole in the communication between her staff and me. Secondly, we did not do a final walk through the week before. We had a hard time getting in contact in the final weeks and resorted to email. Although this was good because everything was documented and there for her to hand off to her staff, there were several changes and it wouldve been helpful to have a walk through with the supervisor who was set to work on the wedding day. Finally, my timeline was passed off to the day-of supervisor, but many of the other notes and directions were not. Thankfully my timeline covered many things, so nothing was disastrous. I would recommend Premier, but suggest they're a better fit for couples with a day-of coordinator.

Gerhard Michler Fine European Desserts

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Mary and Gerhard Michler are amazing. Mary does a lovely presentation for the tasting, and put up with my numerous calls and visits while I designed and redesigned my wedding cake. I just couldnt get confident about what I wanted because it was hard for me to visualize. She provided a test tier, then die-testing flower petals, all at no cost. It must have been a pain for her to put up with, but she handled it all with grace and patience. Also, their cakes are the cheapest ones I found!!! They figure out the range of people the cake could feed, then charge you on the lower number. For example, we were planning on 85 guests, but our cake could feed 75-87 say, depending on how big you cut the pieces. We were charged on the 75 headcount. And the cake was amazing! We also got a small grooms cake that is off their regular list of products so scrumptious. I cant say enough good things about these guys. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a wedding cake.

Trudy's Brides, Prom & Special Occasions

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
I called almost a month before and scheduled an appointment. When we arrived on a very busy Sunday, they didn't have my appointment in the book, but immediately said, "Don't worry, we'll get you in, no problem." I think they saw the look of horror on my face. ;) They paired me up with Kathy and immediately got me into a fitting room. Kathy was wonderful, she nailed down my style in 5 dresses. We bought the 4th dress I tried on. Bought the matching veil that Kathy suggested. I hadn't planned on buying a veil. As a bargain bride, I was going to order online, but it matched the dress perfectly, and mom fell in love with it. We also bought dyeable satin sandals there. I love sandals, wear them all the time. But a couple weeks later had sandal regret. When they arrived I tried to return them, but I was told I'd have to pay a restocking fee and buy another pair there for the same or higher price. I passed. We also ordered the bridesmaid dresses on the same day. Heather was our helper in that department, she was awesome! Very attentive, and helped confirm orders a couple weeks later when I was making sure a BM had placed her order. Those dresses arrived very quickly too. I highly recommend Trudy's because they were very friendly and took care of me right away, even after they couldn't find the appointment, and everything arrived early. The restocking/exchange scenario is a rip-off, although not uncommon at bridal shops.

The Queen Anne Hotel

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
Overall we had a great experience at the Queen Anne. Their coordinator, Michael Wade, is a pleasure to work with. Its a small hotel, more like a large B&B, so they are very laid back and were willing to help us out and make adjustments. Aside from a few minors glithes, we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend them.

Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
I had a wonderful experience with Liz Arden. Their coordinator was very thorough and booked me, three BMs, and my trials. We had one hitch when it was suggested that we do some waxing during my trial. We went ahead and did it, then I was charged for the extra services. I was already late for work, so I called the coordinator the next day and she immediately offered the refund the extra charges. On the day of, everyone was helpful, nice and we were given our own chill-out room to keep our stuff and munch on breakfast. It was a very pleasurable experience, excellent service and highly recommended.

Rose & Leona's Flower Shop

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
R&L deals mostly with funerals because theyre right by the cemetery, so theyre happy to do more lively events like weddings and they do beautiful work. We got bouquets, boutonnires and corsages from them. Everything looked beautiful. The owner can be absent minded and in the end our orange calla lillies came out fuscia. The orange roses I actually handpicked from a sample lot, and they were perfect. Other then that, theyre very nice and youll certainly get an excellent price.

Omar Vega and Justin Mott

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
These guys come highly recommended. I met Omar at SF State in the journalism department. He is an amazing photographer. Originally I asked him and another student to shoot our wedding. The second photographer went MIA for two months, and finally emailed me two months before the wedding. She wanted more money or less hours. Being that the contact involved Omar too, I told her I couldnt change the plan and thanks, but no thanks. Omar jumped right in and took on the work of two photographers. He did a walk through and site preparation for the Conservatory of Flowers. He spent weeks investigating the permitting system to make sure we could take photos there. As we got closer, he wanted to make sure everything went well and sub-contracted with Justin. The end result was fantastic photos that are unique and capture the feel of our day perfectly. I had CDs of about 1,000 photos ready and waiting for me when we returned from our honeymoon! You can't go wrong with these guys.

Kirsten Tucker Designs

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
Kirsten was excellent. She was quick, straight to the point and very affordable. I paid about $280 for hemming, taking the bust in, adding cups and building the bustle. The bust of my dress was detailed work over a single sheet of lace, so Kirsten had to remove the lace and rework it to make the bust line fit me. I was very pleased with her work.
