I am so excited to finally have my bridal party set!  My MOH is my best friend Amanda who I've known for about 14 years now and proudly share my name with!  I also asked my best friend from college, Kristina, to be a bridesmaid and FI's sister, Beth.  Just a small wedding party, but an awesome one!  I had known for sometime who I wanted to ask to be in the wedding, but I wanted to do it in a special way.  Until I figured out how I wanted to do it, and got all the supplies to make it happen, it was so hard to keep it a secret from my closest friends!

To ask my girls to share in our special day, I drew inspiration from Happily.Ever.After11 and kalenalena, who each made their own version of bridesmaid first aid kits!  I took my favorite elements from each and made "Maid of Honor" and "Bridesmaid Survival Kits"!  And all of my girls loved them!  They took some work, which was a big feat for me considering I am not crafty at all, but they were TOTALLY worth it!  I was so happy with how they turned out!  I hope you can all see what is in them, but if not, or if you have questions about how I made them, feel free to PM me! :)

It is a princess cut solitaire - classic, sophistocated and timeless!  I love it!  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!

FI and I have discussed marriage from very early on in our relationship.  Being together and starting a family together is something that has always been very important to us.  In the months before our engagement, I had a strong feeling it was coming soon but I didn't know when.  There were times I suspected it, and one of those times was my birthday.  It was on a weekday and when the day came and went, I was very disappointed.  The following Saturday we had dinner plans to go out and celebrate.  FI was acting a little odd that day, but nothing out of the ordinary so I didn't think much of it.  The thought he might propose had crossed my mind, but I didn't want to get my hopes up.  When I was ready to go, he asked me to go in our room and get something.  I didn't want to, but he insisted.  When I went in I found a note, and when I read it, I knew!!!  I went back out to the living room, and he got down on one knee and simply said "Will you marry me?"  I think I screamed "YES!" before he was even finished asking the question!  When I saw the ring I couldn't believe it.  Not only was it EXACTLY what I wanted, but it was the same ring we looked at together 2 months prior, and I thought for sure he didn't get it!  After we collected ourselves, we went out for one of the most romantic dinners I've ever had!  Then we came home, popped open a bottle of bubbly and called all of our closest family and friends!  It was a perfect night, I wouldn't have had it any other way!

The long story is that fate brought us together.  The short story is that match.com did!

After 2 years of living on my own and dating unsuccessfully, I decided to give match a try.  FI was one of the first people who caught my eye, but it wasn't until 6 months later, in March of 2008, that we actually began to communicate.  I had gone on several dates with no luck, and decided to take a break.  When I rejoined, FI's profile again caught my eye.  The next day, I had a message from him!  He said he remembered seeing my profile months before and wanted to introduce himself!  We emailed back and forth for a while before exchanging numbers.  One night we started texting, and I mustered up the courage to make the first phone call!  We had such a great first conversation that night, I knew in my gut he was someone special.  It wasn't until months later of dating that he confessed he was enjoying our conversation so much, he actually took notes so he could remember everything about me for our first date!  I thought that was so cute, and he actually still had the notes and gave them to me, which I have safely stored away!

Fast forward about a week to our first date on April 5, 2008.  I had actually never been so calm before a first date because like I said, I had a gut feeling that he was someone special.  But when he was an hour late, I began to get nervous!  He called to tell me he was in traffic, and to make sure I checked online and low and behold, there was a bad accident on the way!  So I had to help him find a detour!  It was well worth the wait though because we had an amazing time that night, and an almost instant connection.  I knew that night that we would be together, and so did he - we have been inseparable ever since!

We have been through a lot together over the past 2+ years, but our relationship is stronger than ever.  We have experienced loss together, and endured 9 months of a long distance relationship when he was sent away for work.  And we have had more good times than I can count.  He is the most loving, caring, and supportive man I know.  We are so blessed to have found each other, and I can't wait to be his wife!
