So as I've previously mentioned, deciding on the centerpiece has been one of the biggest challenges I have faced during the wedding planning process. A few months ago, I decided to go with a combination of Fruit and gerbera daisies...this plan changed when I ran into Pomanders! Special thanks to the ladies who were willing to share their DIY Pomander tips with me. My initial plan was to line the pews at the church with, but after making and falling in love with my first Pomander, I felt I could expand its use in my wedding further. Cut the long story short, I've decided to incorporate pomanders into my center pieces. I've never been more satisfied at a wedding-related decision. I made my first mock-up of the centerpiece and I am super ecstatic and proud of the success. See the pic below for it . The actual one I'm planning to use is the one in the center with the flowers in the vase. I'm so excited to get to work!
I've been waiting for the day I would say that :) Pics from our E-shoot are gracing Susan, our Photog's website. Please feel free to check them ou. PS: ignore the title, it should be groom vs photog. I the bride was simply the messenger that took the fall for it :)
For me, the joy of a wedding are the preparations leading up to the day itself. One of such preparations is taking the engagement pics. We took ours a few weeks ago with our fab fab photographer, Susan Sabo. While prepping for the shoot, I knew flat out that I wanted something urban, so we decided to use Old Town Pasadena. Right before the shoot, we had a little (or big back then) hiccup with our photographer :( we sorted out everything and I feel that the experience makes me appreciate her even more. Fast forward to the e-shoot...it was an amazing experience, we had lots of fun. Here are a couple of the pics:
I fall in love with my venue every day....it doesnt hurt when you've been informed that they will be including Chiavari chairs in my wedding package for no additional cost!! It was an wonderful suprise. I totally didnt have the budget for it, so I'm totally stoked about it. The chairs are silver and I plan on using silver satin lines a bit similar to those in this pic:
I really like the clean look of this venue. I love love the use of fucshia, its cute and playful but still elegant and put-together. This picture totally validaed the image I have in my head of my tables :) Thank you Picture owner!
If there's one thing I'm conflicted on regarding this wedding, its the centerpiece! Unlike many brides, I personally do not care too much for flowers and honestly think they are over-priced. Anyway, so I've been looking at alternatives and still can't decide :( I had some samples made with ,gerber daisies, that I actually quite like, but I'm not willing to shell out the asking price. Here are the pics:
I was thinking of going the fruit route and have been collecting inspirations. I have been poor at keeping track of my sources, so please if you identify any pics that are yours, please let me know and I will give you credit for them.
Some other random ideas I have run into:
I'm quite confused at the moment and need to really figure my centerpieces out :(
Deciding on a Ceremony venue was one of the more contentious things for FI and I :( It took a whoole lot of convincing to get him on board with using the church I chose! We are going to be using a First Methodist church. It means alot to me to get married in a Methodist church because my parents are Methodist and in the Yoruba custom, the wedding is expected to be held in the bride's parents church. It doesnt hurt that is a gorgeous church too ;)
