We got married on Sunday, September 4, 2011.  The whole week's weather was perfect but it was calling for rain and thunderstorms throughout the day on Sunday and I was getting used to the idea that my outside ceremony was going to be moved into the reception hall.  The rain cleared long enough for the photographer to take me and my girls out to get some photos.  Our shoes were a mess and I have no pictures of my train down, but I was so happy to get at least a few outside photos.  Just as we finished up, it began to rain again.  We got back to the hotel so that the photographer could get photos of the guys getting ready and it once again stopped raining long enough for the guys to head outside and get some photos.  It rained a little more after that, and I have to admit that I was pretty bummed out that all the gorgeous decorations my mom and I made for the ceremony wouldn't get to be seen in their glory outside.  It stopped raining about an hour and a half before the ceremony.  We got to the reception hall and after seeing how the archway and columns looked set up on the dance floor for the indoor ceremony, I realized it wasn't as bad as I though it was going to be to get married inside.  I got a chance to look around the hall at our decorations before being wisked outside for more photos.  That's when the reception hall wedding coordinator, Lindsey, came up to me and told me they were moving it all outside!  The rain held off for us to have our outdoor ceremony and it was pretty much all I could ask for:)  We were able to head off in our golf carts and get several good photos out on the golf course before making it back to the hall just as the skies let loose with heavy rain and wind that knocked over my backdrop for the photobooth.  Can't wait to get the photos back!

I'm using the peacock feather as a theme in my wedding as well as the colors.  Colors are blue, purple, and teal.  I have three bridesmaids and I am trying to decide if I should put one in each color or just go with the purple.  Tell me what you think!Bridesmaid Dresses photo 1

Update:  I went with all three colors and I loved them!

I finally purchased my dress.  I picked Essence of Australia D1006 in pearl with ivory lace.  It should arrive in late July so I have time for alterations in August and the wedding in September.

I am a thirty something bride marrying for the first time.  My fiance and I have been together for roughly 8 years (minus about a year for all the on and off agains!).  We will be getting married in Cincinnati, Ohio, in an outdoor ceremony (hopefully) at a gazebo with the reception at the same location.  Although I am very excited for the wedding, I am NOT an organized person who is good at planning.  I finally decided on my dress and purchased it the 3rd week of March and our wedding is in September.  My name should be procrastinator because we are I don't even have a photographer or invites yet!  I will be updating my bio as soon as I can though.

Update: 6/14/11- Well, we have a photographer now.  We seriously lucked out and got one of my favorites for a great price.  I'm still not sure how it ended up working out the way it did, but boy am I thankful.  Perhaps my procrastinating worked in my favor for once;)

My friend sent me a first mockup of our invitations today.  I loved them (awaiting color changes for the border).  Thank goodness, because I know we need to send them out soon.  I actually see that other September brides have sent them out already!  Yikes, I'm way behind.  I'm sad because I know all these DIY projects I have planned are not going to get done and I'm going to have to choose which ones to finish.
