It's a little daunting planning a wedding to be held in San Francisco, we could easily spend 5x our $6500 budget without breaking a sweat. Our small guest list is small, and that will be a great savings. Our ceremony and reception are being held in the same place, so there is a savings there. Also, it doesn't charge a seperate venue fee, just the cost per head fee, which I will admit is very steep. We don't need rings, we are already married....savings! Also, the $9,000 does not include a honeymoon. We will spend a long weekend in San Francisco with family and friends but that is not included in this budget. This is the budget, although I am going to try to come under budget in as many catgories as possible!

$400: Candy buffet
$700: Dress, shoes, all accessories
$200: Shelley's shoes, accessories and attire

Shelley and I met in February 2003 at work. By June 2004 we were dating and I moved in a month later. In May 2005 she presented me with the ring of my dreams, 1.5 carat oval cut natural blue sapphire, 1 princess cut diamond on each side set in platinum. One month later I found the perfect sapphire ring for her and there we were, officially engaged!
We registered as domestic partners in September 2005 and reluctantly decided to postpone a wedding until it was legalized in our state. Luckily in 2008 CA had a brief window of time that allowed us to be legally married. At the time we had very little money to spend on our wedding. We were married in city hall with a handful of family and friends. We had a lunch reception at a delicious mexican place on the river, complete with wedding cupcakes!
We are now planning our dream vow renewal for June 2014, our 10 year dating anniversary. Our wedding colors were fushia and orange so we plan on using peach and pink for our renewal. Just softer versions of our original colors. We are going to have our ceremony and reception in Vermont, we are planning on moving back east when I graduate. We are planning for an intimate renewal with approximately 20 guests. The vibe we are going for is casual, soft colors, beachy, shabby chic elegant. I want to incorporate alot flowers with candles and several differant kinds of shells and starfish.
