So FI does not want a regular wedding ring/band. He wants something sparkly and different. I wanted to get something custom made, but he was not really feeling that and how expensive it was going to be. So he found a ring that he likes and how much was it? Over $3k. Yep a sparkly black diamond David Yurman ring.

So that was out of the picture.

So he picked out 3 or four rings that he liked that were not as expensive. So there was one for 9 and change, 7 and change. I was stressing about the ring and how much it cost and how there really is no money available for it right now. But I want to get him his ring. I didn't want him to settle for something else. I know he sacrificed for my ring, so me being me...I just want him to get what he wants.

So off to David Yurman he and I go. He had tried on all of the other styles, but the one that was more affordable (ha...9 and change) he had not tried on. So fortunately for us, his ring finger is a size 10...the standard size that is usually shown in jewelry shops for men. So he liked it. I purchased it and we are all happy.

What does it look like? Check it out. David Yurman's Pave Diamond Curb Chain Signet Ring

So I wanted to get some pics of "The Future" and I last year. You know, like e-pics. But it was very cold when I thought about it. I spoke o a photographer that did my friend's family photos and we agreeded that I would contact her at a later date once the weather broke. So the weather broke. I got in touch with her and we set up the session. Between then and the present, she now does wedding photography and her prices went up. Oh joy. From uncertain amateur to bonafide...show me the money. It is all good though. You provide a service, once you get your confidence, you should absolutely charge what you are worth and within market standard.

So we booked the session and did it last weekend. I figured it was a good time for us to take some pics together (we have very few random ones, but no really nice ones that don't have a logo on them.) I also figured it would prove good practice for "The Future" to get accustomed to taking pics, people looking at him and being the center of attention and to get loose for photos.

So it started off a bit rocky. He was getting anxious about taking pics with so many people around. He had on white shorts, so he did not want to get dirty. He did not want to lean on that brick wall with the amazing detail because there were spider webs and bugs on it...and it was dirty. He was anxioius about taking pics on other people's property. (e.g.- in front of a home's door; it was an amazing bright yellow on a hunter green house, someone's cobblestone/brick driveway) I think it worked out though and we are both very excited to see the final results. She said it will take about 2 weeks before we get the pics.

As soon as we get 'em I will post some of them. In the meantime if you want to see her work check out her site:

So I am still working on the makeup look for the day. I purchased a coupon from weddingwire.com/theknot.com for a make up consultation with Melissa Mangrum from About Face Beauti. (MD). I finally took advantage of the offer and went to check her out. I am waaaaay happier with these results. What do you think?
