A little back story: Zach gave me a ring the previous Valentine's Day that I was getting sized and it came in the day of the proposal.
As I am very hard to fool, Zach had to move quickly and not do anything suspicious as to raise my eyebrows (like going out to a nice dinner, a trip, Christmas, etc. It was very important to him that I didn't have any idea it was coming). That being said, I was taking an online exam at home (a 3 hour exam, ick) in my pajamas when he came home in between his double at work. This was a complete surprise to me and although I was excited to see him, I was just exhausted. He walks in and hands me junk mail and asks (without even a kiss mind you) "Can you throw this away?" So, being that he just walked by the trash can, I was a little peeved...but got up and threw the mail away. As I turn back around, Z's on one knee...with a box. Thinking this is the ring that I had just gotten sized (as the box was closed) I was thinking, awwe how sweet, he's going to say something cute. He began telling me what a wonderful woman I am and how he wanted to start a family with me and loads of other amazing statements. Mind you, I thought it was sweet, but was confused as to why he was saying all of this while giving me a ring he gave to me several months ago...you know? Anyway, the entire time I thought he was just "fake proposing", even when he began to get emotional. I kept saying "Shut up...I mean is this for real? Shut uuuuppp!" (I'm a sweetheart right?!). Finally, he opens the box...and that's when I realize, this is not a joke. This is the moment...in my pajamas, no make up on, with coffee breath, THIS IS THE MOMENT! And I just stood there for a moment staring until he said "You are the other half of my heart, will you please give me the honor of being your husband?" And then I cried, said yes, and called my entire family! Come to find out, my dad had known for 2 weeks and kept it from me. Looking back, that's why he called me almost everyday for a week! ;) But needless to say, he got me. I had no idea. And even though 30 minutes later he went back to finish his shift, I was blissfully happy. I can't wait to marry my best friend!
Hi! My name is Jenna and I'm marrying my best friend, Zach, on 1/22/11 in Florida! We would love to have a snowy winter wedding, but being that it isn't possible here, a chilly one was a close as we could get! I love bling, romance, and reading as well as playing with our two dogs, Maddox and Bella, and kitten, Samson (aka Kitty Meow). When I am not planning for my wedding you can find me singing, watching movies, or relaxing with my FH. Happy Planning to all!
