I finally found the PERFECT dress for me after trying on a ton of dresses. I ended up getting something that I completely did not want, but I guess it worked out the best. I originally wanted an A-line silhouette, something plain with a nice cathedral train and a sweetheart neckline. I ended up getting a fit-n-flare/mermaid style organza dress instead. lol, funny how you end up getting something you totally did NOT want to begin with.
I decided to go with the fit-n-flare because it was much more slimming in the waist. I wanted a dress that would accentuate my waistline and this one did just that. The a-line dresses were sitting right above my hips and I didn't like how it didn't really show my waistline. I felt like I was drowning in them a bit because you couldn't really see me.. you just saw the big dress!
Anyway, I had the hardest time choosing because I saw a Lazaro 3955 dress that I really wanted and POWD.com had one for only $1100! But there weren't any boutiques nearby that had the dress and I didn't want to blindly order a dress that I had no idea would look on me.. I went ahead and tried on one of Kitty Chen's new 2012 collection -- Charlotte. When I put this dress on, I just knew it had to be THE DRESS for me. I felt amazing in it and it gave a very feminine, romantic feel, which is exactly what I wanted.
Here are some pictures of the dress on the model:
The fiance (lol, I'm still getting used to calling him that), and I got engaged on October 24, 2011. I took a little trip with him to San Diego, where he proposed to me at the beach. It was a perfect, heartfelt moment that I will remember forever.
Here, I am at Ruby's, with my ring!
A closer shot of the "bling-bling." It's a half carat cushion cut center diamond, with a halo and sidestones. Exactly what I've been dreaming of.. lol, he did good.
