In so many Disney Princess movies there is the Happily Ever After scene with the kiss and birds, in our case it will be Doves. 30 all white Doves will be given a signal and fly overhead. They will be in baskets out of sight during the ceremony. I am struggling with when to release them, either the kiss, but we have music for that and need a strong photo op and then the presentation of the new couple before the recessional which I am leaning more towards. The company we are using is White Flite and at a bridal show I actually got to see some of the Doves up close, they are so beautiful!
Below is an example the company had on their website, it looks so sweet!
Aside from wanting to recreate the Disney Weddings I have grown up with, the Dove is hugely symbolic. people who know me understand my need for symbolism in life. The Dove to the Ancient Greeks, was perceived as Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. It symbolizes innocence, faith and marrital affection. The Sacred Dove serves as a gentle reminder that there is always hope, new possibilities and miracles waiting, just around the corner. That is a symbol I want our wedding to be associated with.
I am hoping to find a jeweler who can slightly alter a ring that I found. I love LOVE this ring because it eminates a rose. This one is by art carved
The changes I would like to make are to have pave sides instead of the baguettes. For my wedding band, I love the look of the band below.
I would like to incorporate the swirls that are on the castle on the sides of the rings also. A hidden Disney touch!
Brian is interested in something simple, but not as traditional. He found this ring and we like it a lot.
We are planning to have an in park photo shoot super early the morning after the wedding. I wanted to have a fun dress for those pictures. I love the Alfred Angelo Disney Cinderella dress. It is uber sparkly and very princessy! Oh and it is also affordable!! Here are some pics.
I think it will be gorgeous! Here is a link to some amazing in park photos. I am hoping to have something similar.
Here is the potentail menu which may change after our tasting in June. It is a plated meal with 4 courses. Here are the details, the things we haven't decided upon yet are in color.
We will be starting the meal with a plated appetizer of crab cakes with andouille corn relish.
The salad we chose is from the "Touch of Romance" menu. It is the Romantic Salad with baby lettuce, fresh beet hearts, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, tomatoes and cucumbers with a creamy balsamic dressing. It was recommended by my fabulous planner for its display, lots of hearts which I love. I am not the biggest fan of beets, but we will see at the tasting.
The main dishes are dual plated meals. We're torn between "Stardust Serenade" and "Moonlight Waltz". We definitely want Filet Mignon as the first choice and we are torn between Poached Lobster Tail or Herb Roasted Salmon as the second. We are unsure what the majority of our guests would like best.
The sides will be either Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, haricot verts, and pear tomato piccalili OR Sauteed asparagus, cherry tomato relish and meyer lemon risotto. I love asparagus and DF loves potatoes (he is kind of picky with veggies).
This is served with the artisan bread basket and a dessert which we have yet to decide on. So many desserts to chose from and when we both have massive sweet tooths, I don't know what we will end up with. Our top contenders are:
His & Her chocolate hearts made of white and dark chocolate truffle mousses inserted with espresso and raspberry creme brulee OR White chocolate and passion fruit heart with fresh berries OR Bittersweet chocolate pate with nougatine hazelnut creme anglaise.
We will have to taste to decide! No argument here, yum!!
The kids of course will have something they will find most yummy:
Homemade all natural chicken tenders
Mickeroni & cheese
sweet corn nuggets
chocolate milk or apple juice
Pluto's worms & dirt for dessert
The menus will be created by Impressions and I made a mock up of what I would like
I would like the Gold foil print and on pearlesque pink cardstock. I think it also needs a rhinestone touch somewhere. Of course we can't order the menus until after the tasting and once the items are solidified.
For our pre-reception the string quartet will continue to play Disney love songs mainly while guests are served some tasty hors d'oeuvres. We have chosen these:
"Love's First Encounter" (Heartland Selection):
Mild Tillamook Cheddar, Laura Chenel Goat Cheese Rolled in Chives, Candied Peacans & Cracked Black Pepper
Cheese Torta -Lauers of Cream Cheese with Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto & basil Pesto
Brie en Croute with Carmelized Apples & Pecans
Served with crackers, baguettes & Lavosh Wafers along with Grapes and Seasonal Fruit.
Fruit Punch to drink: 1/2 will be Non-Alcoholic and 1/2 will be Rum Punch
I am going to have pink and blue cocktail napkins made up for this also, similar to this
but I want it at an angle instead and in gold print.
I also want to have a Cheesy Photobooth for the pre-reception. I went to a wedding where there was a booth for the reception and no one was interested in dancing or watching the events, but there was a line a mile long for pictures. I definitely don't want to create any distractions, so this will be there solely for the pre-reception.
We will also have a couple of mouse ears out if the guests would like to wear them for the pictures. The pre-reception should last about an hour and 15 minutes and then the party will begin!!
I am not sure if we will have a monogram or if we need one. Not sure where we would use it since our stationary is without need. I was playing around on photoshop and powerpoint and I came up with these. Are they too much?
Not certain if these make a lot of sense, but eh I was just having fun....
