Yay! These will be set up as seating place cards - each tag will read the name of the guest and which table they will sit at. We are Irish and PROUD - so I just thought this would be such a cute way to incorporate the Irish theme we've got going...

Last week, FI and I decided to play hookie from work (shhh) so we called in "sick" (i have over 3 weeks of sick time built up!) Anyway, FI had no idea what he was in for when he argeed to go to Michaels with me. Poor guy never spent more than 2 min. in a craft store in his life... but the fun thing was that he actually wanted to help!

Long without any further delay, here are the first versions of our Irish inspired place cards. Jameson for the male guests, and Bailey's for the ladies.

**my apologies for the quality of the picture, was taken with my cell phone =)

How old are you both? I am 26 and Rick is 33

Do you have any pets? Not at the moment – we can’t have any pets at our current place.

Was the proposal a complete surprise? As much as I had been thinking about it and wishing for it to happen, yes it was a complete surprise!

Will the wedding guests be "balanced?" Well – I have a LARGE Irish family, and my parents are inviting many of their friends (since they are cutting the check). Rick and I have invited an equal amount of friends, but the fact remains that just my family is double the amount of people in his.

What are some traditions you're keeping at your wedding? We’ll every woman in my family has been married at a yacht club. Rick and I are following in their footsteps as we will be getting married at Cal Yacht Club. We will also keep the traditions of cutting the cake, the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, but we will NOT be throwing the bouquet or garter.

Are you buying his wedding band for him?  Yes! But momma’s got to do some saving first. Thank goodness I’ve still got plenty of time!

What is one thing about your FI that drives you nuts? Haha he always seems to take a bite of my lunch/dinner before I can get to it… even if he has the same exact thing on his own plate!!! UGH! Lol

What are you most looking forward to about being married? Ahhh just going about our normal lives, but married. My favorite thing is when he smiles over at me when we brush our teeth before bed. Knowing that foamy smile belongs to my HUSBAND will just be awesome!

Inside or outside?  Ehh both. The Ceremony will take place on the front lawn over looking the harbor, and the reception will be held inside. We originally wanted to do the reception tented poolside, but the tent rental fee alone was almost $10,000… and the reception space indoors is FREE… but we will have private access to the entire outdoor space that evening.

List anything you dislike. Trying to figure out the seating arrangements. Lol

How many people will be there?  Wow well, right now we have 225 on the invite list.. we have to cut it down to 170 for the indoor receptions space. YIKES!

Time of day?  Most likely early evening 5:30 pm  ish?

Any kind of theme?  Irish (not tacky St. Patrick’s Day) but we will have a bagpiper and drummer at the cocktail hour and will be celebrating many Irish traditions.

How many bridesmaids?  5…I went from 5 to 6 to 5 again… just don’t need the drama from people who ‘expect’ to asked and ‘expect’ to have a say. I’ll say no more…

What kind of cake/what will it look like? I’m not sure yet! I’m excited to plan for this though!

What kind of dress will you have/color/material? Well it’s a pearl white, with a champagne sash and come crystal beading (minimal beading on the sash)…

What kind of flowers in your bouquet?  Light blue hydrangeas and ivory peonies

Kind of engagement ring?  My FI did an amazing job!!!! 1.51 center cushion cut with a halo setting. DROOL

How will you wear your hair?  Romantic waves with a birdcage veil.

Who will be important there?  My Grandmother, Mother and Cousin (who is much like a sister to me) and of course FI. In fact, everyone who attend are important to FI and I / our family!

How long will you be engaged before you get married?  16 months – seems like a looong time.

Live together before or wait till married?  We’ve been living in sinful bliss for over a year already hahaha

Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple? Well we’ve got lots of opinionated  planners in the mix, so the extra time for planning is needed!

Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made?  I’ve already drafted my own vows, and seem to chock up every time I read them – but it would mean a lot if we took a moment to say something of our own to each other perhaps in addition to the traditional Catholic vows.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Kate, I'm 26 and live in Huntington Beach with my Fiancee Rick.

Rick and I have been together for about 2 years. He proposed on St. Patrick's Day this year (2011) on the Huntington Beach Pier at sunset. It was a perfect night, our friends met us in a limo after the proposal and we partied Irish style all night.

We are planning our wedding for July 7th, 2012 - it seems so far away, but I know the time will fly by.

We had originally wanted to have the wedding in the spring, but because we have a lot of family with kids in school, as well as a few teachers - we decided on pushing the wedding back a bit to make sure all of our family would have time off. My first thought was lucky 7! 7.7.12. I hadn't even realized it, but that turns out to be my grandparent's wedding anniv. - so its going to be a very special day.

My parents are members of the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey, CA. (They live on their boat!!!!) We will have the ceremony and reception to follow there on the water at the club. I could have asked for a more beautiful setting and I promise pictures as soon as I get some time to gather them up.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!!

I can't wait to get started and get to know everyone!!
