The ceremony was still a very emotional one for myself as well as my mother. My father passed away when I was 12 so it was a very bittersweet moment for us.
Here are some of our formal pictures that we posed for immediately after the first look:
I worked so very hard on making the details of the wedding as special as possible and have them reflect us as a couple as much as possible. I was so glad to be able to have the time to DIY everything...from the flowers, to the decorations, to the invites. Everything had a little fingerprint from me on it! Not literally, but I put my heart and soul into everything.
Paul and I decided to break tradition and see each other before the ceremony. We had a limited amount of time with the venue and did not want to spend the cocktail hour taking pictures. We had our photographers arrange for a very intimate first look with just my husband and myself and they captured it beautifully. I highly recommend doing a first look. All of our nerves were settled but the ceremony was still a very touching and emotional moment.
We rented our suite at the hotel for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. This was the BEST idea ever. We had a huge room to get ready in. I had breakfast and lunch delivered from Panera Bread. Hair and makeup came to us! It was awesome. I spent the day relaxing with the moms and my ladies. Mean while...my husband spent the night at another hotel and came to get ready at the hotel we were staying in later in the day.
Here are some pictures of us getting ready:
Paul and I had the most AMAZING day of our lives on June 26th, 2009. It had been raining on and off for two weeks in Massachusetts and the weather channel was calling for thunderstorms for my day. I knew that this was something I had to be prepared for! Fortunately the clouds cleared and our day was absolutely beautiful!
