After picking out my ring.....I had no clue what my FI wanted. He did say he wanted a titanium band but after going to a couple jewelry stores we got convinced that titanium wouldnt be the best for the long run. So we ended up with white gold and he loves it.....
I love my rings....My FI picked them out himself because I could not decide what I wanted. I would have never picked out a better ring....
It was quite undeniable that the proposal was coming sooner or later this year. The big question lingering on both our minds, especially her was: "When is it going to happen?"
On the 24th of March, After picking up Monde from the airport, we went straight to Woodlands, an Indian restaurant in Memphis, for some lunch. The food was ok but we were both tired and wanted to get home and relax. As soon as we finished lunch, we headed straight home.
When we got home, we sat down to watch TV but since I had stayed up all night preparing for this moment, I could hardly wait, and wanted to show her right away what I had concocted. I proceeded to tell her that I had something to show her; a video that we needed to watch on my laptop.
I Broke out the laptop and started playing a video that I had created in PowerPoint. That's how geeks propose, in case you didn't know. The Video set with background music courtesy of Shania Twain was a mixture of our pictures and a few words.
When the last slide was revealed showing the words " Will You Marry me", I got down on my knees of course and showed Monde the ring.
She said Yes....
...............Just in case you are wondering.
One upon a time, a very smart Zambian had created a website to allow Zambians from various parts of the world to reunite and discuss various issues. This website was very popular amongst the Zambians living in the United States and Canada and it was here that the two of us took the first initiative of being in touch with each other.
From the beginning, there had always been a connection between us, apart from the fact that we both were from the same town and at some point in our lives attended the same school.Over the years we stayed in touch and would check up on each other frequently. It was not until the end of 2009, that we started seriously talking and entertaining the idea of being a couple.
Our first official date was on May 22, 2010 in New York City, at a Mexican restaurant called Lucy's nestled in the middle of the city behind Madison Square garden.
It was such a surreal moment.
