All of the flowers were hand made by my FMIL!

We used white hydrangeas for my bouquet and added some crystals and tiny leaves throughout. The stems are wrapped with white ribbon and then the overlay is the chiffon and had sewn appliques from my mother's wedding dress that she wore in 1978 (a dress that she bought for $500 at Kleinfeld's, as in Kelinfeld's in New York from the show Say Yes to the Dress)

The bridesmaids have pink and white tulips (their stems are wrapped with white ribbon and each one has their initial pinned to the front of it), the groomsmen and our father's have sage hydrangea's, our mother's have pink rosebuds, sage hydrangea's and white cherry blossoms. My toss bouquet is a mix of pink and white tulips and  sage hydrangeas wrapped with a white ribbon.

We had been talking about getting married about 2 months after we had met. Jody had originally suggested that we elope on Memorial Day weekend...I was able to talk him out of that. We decided to go and look at rings one afternoon while I was visiting Jody in Baltimore and to see his niece play in the soccer state championships. After looking at one or two rings we found one that we both really liked. Seeing as how we were only looking that day, I thought I could leave him in the store while I ran to the ladies room quickly. When I came back to the store I was looking at a display on the counter and he walked over to me with that goofy smile on his face. He leaned over and gave me a kiss and told me that he loved me. I told him "I love you too" and before I knew it his hat was off and he was on one knee in the middle of the jewelry store. I can't tell you what exactly he said to me...I know the first thing I said to him was "are you kidding me".  I repeated that line at least 2 more times until he leaned over, still on one knee, and said "baby, are you gonna say yes?". Thrilled and in shock I was able to get the word "yes" out...I hugged him and kissed him, and then asked if I could sit down. We sat in the jewelry store for about another 5 minutes so we could both catch our breath. It's a moment I will never forget...and one that I knew would happen from the minute I first layed eyes on him.

The guys in the jewelry store were able to get this on their iPhone!!! Our outfits were NOT planned!!! lol I don't even know how we walked out of the house like that...I always make one of us change if we are even in the same color!!! lol

We met on February 28, 2009. My college roommates and I were having a roommate reunion weekend in Baltimore and were out and about causing trouble in town as usual. Jody was out doing a scavenger hunt with a bunch of friends and by chance or some higher being we bumped into each other in the Fell's Point section of Baltimore. Jody and a few of his friends began talking to the us, but Jody never spoke to me, just made casual eye contact throughout the conversation. The guys began to leave, but not without Jody asking me for my number. Thinking to myself...yeah right...never gonna see or hear from this guy, why not give him my number. Long story short, we bumped into each other twice more before parting ways for the rest of the night...or so they thought. Eight hours later and on the complete opposite end of Baltimore, we found ourselves crossing each other's path again.

With everything working against us, Jody moving back to GA in a week, and me going back to PA in the morning we thought this would be the last time we would see each other.

I can remember driving back to PA the next morning, calling my mom and telling her that I had met the man I was going to marry. I was thinking about him so much that I actually missed my exit to get home and drove 40 minutes out of the way!  Jody says he spent much of the next day trying to find me on facebook...but with a name as common as Jessica Johnson he was looking for a needle in a haystack. It was a good thing I was doing the same thing and his name is not as common, and I was able to find him. Jody says that even though we lived so far apart that he knew there was something about me and he had to be in my life somehow, even if it was just as a friend.

We have spoken everyday since the day we met. He told me he was going to marry me...after only 9 weeks of knowing each other and only seeing each other twice. He proposed with a ring 9 months after we met.

I am now a TRUE believer in love at first sight...and even if you aren't looking for love, love has a way of finding you!
