With so many talented artists out there, Jon, Mike and Hiko are in a league of their own. Hands down. They not only worked with us to build a special package that fit our budget but also provided beautiful photographs that captured our special day -- without being obtrusive. This team worked behind the scenes, had the utmost patience and professionalism and were just so much fun. They have a gift of making you feel so relaxed and comfortable... so much that we forgot about the camera! And the pictures -- I've mentioned before that they were beautiful. But they are also amazing. With their journalistic style, they captured the most beautiful candids. Jon, Mike and Hiro skipped most of their dinner to secretly print out some of the photos from our day and surprised us with a collection of framed prints for us to take home!!! It was a lovely and thoughtful gift and all of us, including our guests, were blown away. The wonderful news is that these guys are open to traveling to where you are getting married. If you can, adjust your budget and book them. I do not regret forgoing other things in my wedding to have such a beautiful set of photos.

Trudy's Brides, Prom & Special Occasions
Trudy's was the 3rd place I visited. The other two bridal dress stores didn't have the selection that Trudy's had. Having visited Trudy's (while I was a bridesmaid) and remembering how busy they get during the weekends, I visited on a weeknight - to bide some time waiting for my dinner buddy and just to see what was out there. Since it was slow, I was able to book an appointment with Sheryl. After filling out a questionnaire, Sheryl and I talked about my budget, what type of dress I envisioned and where the wedding was. Although the venue wasn't set, we did discuss the other two along with potential venue spots. Sheryl came back with 5 dresses and I ended up ordering the 4th dress, a dress made by Pronovias. Sheryl nailed my style within those 5 dresses and saved me hours of shopping. :) Originally my fiance and I planned to marry in late 2008 but we ended up setting an August 2007 wedding. Sheryl and Trudy's staff made sure I had my dress in time for alterations. Great service and knowledgeable staff.

Nona and her staff are amazing. I've known Nona for several years now and attended several weddings where she was the florist. I am always impressed with the pieces she creates. From the bouquets, altar pieces, pew decorations to table centerpieces -- her designs are beautiful, artistic, refreshing and customized for the bride and groom. Some florists carbon copy weddings and after awhile, it becomes overdone. With Nona's work, you can see the quality and know it's from Nona but it doesn't look or feel like something she created without care. Her pieces lasted throughout the day (even the super toasty Bay Area ones). I am looking forward to having Nona's creations for my wedding.

Beth Helmstetter Events
I originally planned on taking care of the planning/coordinating on my own and hand it over to an experienced friend for day-of coordination. But my plans changed when we decided to move up the wedding a year and to get married in Maui. With only 5.5 months to plan a wedding, a super busy but detailed, slightly neurotic, type-A bride that lives in another state (me), a limited budget, and not fully defined ideas, Beth had her challenges. Beth has been a blessing and a complete joy to work with. She is patient, highly organized, professional, friendly, thoughtful, thorough, detailed (she captures it all), efficient, and cost-efficient. She has saved me money while providing above-the-call of duty service -- including providing materials that saved me from lugging them over ot hawaii and securing lower rates from entertainment and site vendors. And she was so flexible -- working with my budget and making sure she understood and can envision my ideas for the wedding. Never did she impose herself nor did she abandon me during this planning process. But she has always tacfully provided her honest opinion. What I liked most about Beth -- while other wedding coordinators or planners require a deposit before even talking to you about your wedding, Beth took the time to ask questions and provide some helpful advice before the contract was signed. On top of it, her rates are very reasonable and affordable. Other planners of her caliber are much more expensive and require a $40,000 minimum spent on the wedding. Most of our communications have been via email or phone and it has worked very well given that we're on separate states and 3 hours apart. What also helps are the detailed plans she sends over that includes site setup/layout, food, entertainment, time schedule, costs and other details -- all in one easy to read file. If you plan on getting married in Maui, call Beth. She will make your wedding planning much easier and less stressful.
