Jan 27th was the big day. We were set to go into his families house to celebrate his sisterWhitney and brother in law Colby buying a house. I have to be honest I was so tired from school and work and just plain tired. But I love his family so I was determined to go. He ended up having to work late so we got a very late start to the trip (Paul's family lives 3 hours away).

Let me back track a bit, did I mention that everybody called me that day? EVERYBODY.  All my best friends, my family, his family finally after his sister Keri calling I told her I felt like something weird was going on. Something was off. Was I dying and no one wanted to tell me? She laughed and said no silly.

On the road  (3 hours later than we were supposed to be) and at least a dozen phone calls later, Paul broke into conversations of why we were so good together, why we were special and how he loved me. I never caught on.

We got to his sisters house and get ready for the dinner for the new house and head over to his mom's house. We rode in complete silence. When we get there the house was dark (its never dark) and Whitney says "I forgot that the garage door does not work we will have to go around the front, yall go through the back" Paul takes my hand and we walk to the back patio. The first thing I notice is rose petals on the ground and luminaries in the shape of a heart and music playing. Shock. That's what I felt Complete shock. The music was on and I recognize the lyrics from a card Paul had given me the night before. The lyrics to an Alabama song..

How do you fall in love?
And when do you say I do
And when is the perfect time
To spend the rest of your life?

Seasons may come and go
And sometimes it rains and snows
And there will be highs and lows
So only you will know

You never know just where it will find you
'Cause it can come on you so fast
But seems like it takes forever
When you want it so bad

But don't ever take it for granted
'Cause it's more than sowing some seeds
And it takes sun and water
So give it what it needs

And that's how you fall in love
And that's when you say I do
And that's when you know it's time
To spend the rest of your life

Now seasons may come and go
And sometimes it rains and snows
There will be highs and lows, so only you will know
And there will be highs and lows, so only you will know

We start to dance and I start crying and he asked if I liked it and I said it was perfect. He said I can make it more perfect and he got down on one knee. All I really remember is crying, shaking and saying yes. We danced a bit more then Paul showed me a few more thins a table set up with the lyrics to the song, a rose, a plate with the initial G and a picture frame with the picture of our girls and his grandpa. He said he wanted the girls to be with us, I lost it. Then all his family came out of hiding! Lol His dad and brother in law were videoing and photographing the whole thing! It was absolutely amazing!
