I am designing these as we speak, and will hopefully post a picture of my idea very soon! I will probably be making these more towards September, but designing them will at least get one more thing done!

We are still deciding on this information - it's been kind of tough since we are both rather picky with the tunes. But these are the ones which are relatively concrete.

First Dance: Til There Was You by The Beatles

Father/Daughter Dance:  (still debating) Landslide by Fleetwood Mac or My Girl by the Temptations

I have borrows bits here and there for our ceremony, mainly from Kassi_o and KristinKay's ceremonies. I loved the wording of some of their passages and thought they were really beautiful. I want our ceremony to be short and sweet. Our officiant will also be adding in a personalized section for us.

Ceremony Order

  • Entrance/Processional
  • Giving away of the bride
  • Welcome and Opening Remarks
  • Prayer
  • Officiant Remarks and Commentary
  • Exchange of the vows and rings
  • Blessing of the hands
  • Pronouncement of husband and wife
  • First presentation of couple
  • Recessional
The wording for each of the sections is below.

Giving Away of the Bride

Officiant: Who comes forward to give Caitlin to Brandon in marriage?

Mom/Dad: I do.

Officiant: With the blessing of the parents, Caitlin and Brandon, now come forward to be joined in marriage.

Opening Prayer

In the quiet of this very special moment, we pause to give thanks to God for leading Caitlin and Brandon to each other, in friendship and love, commitment and trust, and for bringing them before you today, for the blessing of marriage.

Let their trust in one another bring them peace, and may that trust flow deeper with the passing years. May their differences inspire them to work together and may they always appreciate and rejoice in all that they share.

In gentleness, let them be tender with each other's dreams, and healing of each other's wounds. Let goodness flower with forgiveness and be the fruit of their married life. Amen

Exchange of Rings/Vows

Officiant: May I please have the rings? These wedding rings, these little circlets of precious metal, symbolize the never-ending circle of love. They echo the circle of eternity, and thus, are justly regarded as the fitting emblem of the purity and perpetuity of the marriage state. Always see the best in each other each day that you are together. And when you look at the beauty of these rings, remember the love that you have for each other is forever. May these rings forever be to you the symbols of your ever-growing love.

Brandon, repeat after me.

I ____________, take you, _______________
to be my wife/husband
knowing in my heart
that you will always be my best friend,
my partner in life, and my one true love.
On this special day
I give you this ring, and my promise
to stay by your side
in sickness and in health,
in joy and in sorrow.
I promise to love, honor and respect you,
to comfort you and support you,
to grow with you in mind and spirit,
to always be open and honest with you,
and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

Caitlin, repeat after me.

I ____________, take you, _______________
to be my wife/husband
knowing in my heart
that you will always be my best friend,
my partner in life, and my one true love.
On this special day
I give you this ring, and my promise
to stay by your side
in sickness and in health,
in joy and in sorrow.
I promise to love, honor and respect you,
to comfort you and support you,
to grow with you in mind and spirit,
to always be open and honest with you,
and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

Blessing of the Hands

Caitlin and Brandon, please join hands so that you may see the gifts you have offered to one other.

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you.

These are the hands that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.

These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief engulfs your heart.

These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.

These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing, supporting and encouraging them along the way, knowing when it is time to let go.

These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into each other’s eyes: eyes that are filled completely with overwhelming love and desire for you.

And finally, these are the hands that even when wrinkled with age, will still be reaching for you, still giving the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

God, bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in your grace, rich in caring, and devoted in reaching for your perfection. May Caitlin and Brandon see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.

Pronouncement of Husband and Wife

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.

May you wake each day,

And give thanks to another day of loving.

With these vows spoken

I now pronounce you husband and wife.

You may now kiss your bride.

First Presentation of the Couple

Ladies and gentleman, I am honored to present to you for the first time:
