On this blog, I found a post about wedding tents and now I want one!!! I think (?) it would be cheaper than a venue, but I have no idea. They had this guide, and depending on how many guests you have will determine what size of tent you need:
How old are you both? I am 21 and John is 26
Do you have any pets? Not yet! I would love 2 cats or maybe a dog
Was the proposal a complete surprise? I might have to save this question until later! He has only "unofficially proposed" because he doesn't have the ring yet. However, we have been talking about marriage pretty much since we started dating, so it wasn't a shock
Will the wedding guests be "balanced?" When we make our initial lists I definitely think I'll have more people, but the wedding is in his home state where all his family lives, so the majority of attendees will probably be his :/
What are some traditions you're keeping at your wedding? We aren't going to see each other until I walk down the aisle, "Something new, old, borrowed, blue," and we are going to cut a mini cake (we're having a dessert table!) But besides that, everything else is gone.
Are you buying his wedding band for him? Yes!
What is one thing about your FI that drives you nuts? He would play video games allll day if I would let him.
What are you most looking forward to about being married? Just being with him all the time and knowing that I've found "the one." Oh, and I'm looking forward to him making dinner every night.. he is a fabulous cook! ;)
Inside or outside? Inside. I originally wanted an outdoor wedding but we're getting married in november so it might be a little chilly!
List anything you dislike. People judge me after talking to me for one minute. They go back and tell their friends I'm a *B* word or things like that, but it's not true. I just don't feel comfortable talking to someone I just met like they're my best friend. It doesn't work that way. But I don't think I'm being unfriendly.
How many people will be there? I'm thinking we will invite about 150, but who knows who will RSVP?
Time of day? Still not sure! There are pros and cons of each.
Any kind of theme? Fall, rustic chic, dark romantic colors
How many bridesmaids? 1 MOH, and either 2 or 3 BMs
What kind of cake/what will it look like? We are just getting a small, individual cake for us to cut! Probably just a small, white, round cake with minor decor.
What kind of dress will you have/color/mat erial? I really like tulle! I used to want an empire wasit but now I'm thinking princess. You will only have one wedding so might as well get a huge dress!
What kind of flowers in your bouquet? Not sure, but I would love deep plum colors.
Kind of engagement ring? 1.5ct princess cut a.k.a my profile photo :)
How will you wear your hair? Can't decide, I'll have to wait until I have my dress
Who will be important there? Everyone! I wouldn't invite someone unimportant
How long will you be engaged before you get married? It will be a year
Live together before or wait till married? We want to live together, but currently we don't. It'll be another month or so before we can move in together.
Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple? I'm taking a year to plan! Mostly because I'm still in school (graduate in MAY!) and will be super stressed trying to do senior year while planning a wedding.
Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made? I think we'll write down something for the minister to read and then do traditional vows. I definitely want something we personally wrote somewhere in there.
I haven't really put much consideration into what my makeup, hair, or even DRESS are going to look like! I'm a pretty simple girl when it comes to hair and makeup. Most of these inspirations my hair isn't long enough for :/ Currently my hair is to my shoulders (when naturally curly) and when it's straight it's about 2 inches past my shoulder.
Here is some hair inspiration I've been collecting..
Now for makeup..
So far this is what I'm thinking for our STDs... (no, that's not us in the picture)
The design is really simple, which I like. Plus our wedding is November so I would feel weird sending out fall-themed STDs during january/february.
I was having a hard time coming with fall favors, but after I thought up one they all started pouring out!! I live in vermont but we're having the wedding in Miss., so I thought it would be fab to have little VT maple syrup bottles (although they are killer expensive) and VT maple candy. Also we'll have candy corn, brown/orange/red/yellow m&ms, and possibly apple cidar or hot chocolate mix, or jars of apple butter. Nom nom

FI and I aren't really traditional, so we probably won't have a huge cake (just a small one for cutting purposes). We are, however, going to have a dessert table with a mish-mosh of delish fall-inspired treats, ranging from pecan pie, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin chocolate chip brownies, smores cake, peanut butter cup brownies, etc!! I cannot wait, it will be absolutely delish!
