Lincolnshire Marriott Resort

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
For our wedding night, we stayed at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, in the honeymoon suite. When we arrived, we received complimentary strawberries and champagne. The room was beautifully set up, perfect for a romantic first night as husband and wife. We were so tired after the reception, however, so we really didn't get to enjoy the atmosphere all that much. The next morning we received a complimentary breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The accommodations were lovely.

Krispy Kreme Donuts

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
My husband and I do not like cake, and I had been flipping through a bridal magazine when I saw this unique idea for a "Krispy Kreme Wedding Cake." (My husband LOVES Krispy Kremes). I happen to love Rice Krispy Treats. So, instead of a traditional wedding cake, we had a Krispy Kreme Cake and a Rice Krispy Cake- both adorned with festive wedding decor. We ordered about 6 Dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts from the store in St. Charles, my sister-in-law picked them up the morning of the wedding, and assembled a tiered tower of Krispy Kremes. It was fun, festive, and inexpensive. As far as I know, Krispy Kreme did a fine job, and they were a hit at the reception!

Piper's Deli Catering & Foodservice

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
We had a very casual outdoor wedding at a beautiful park with a pavilion. We had our reception catered by my Father-In-Law's catering company, Piper's Deli. They couldn't have done a more fantastic job. The spread included NY strip steaks, Chicken Piccata, Veggies, mashed potatoes, salads, and plenty of other sides. We also had the catering company serve wine and beer all evening. The service was professional, prompt, and delicious- we were so impressed by the variety of food available to our guests, at a very inexpensive price per head. We heard many guests commenting throughout the night how delicious the food was, and we enjoyed it as well. Piper's Catering is a great option for outdoor, casual weddings. The company provides a unique blend of great menu options to fit your budget as well as sophistication to fit your style.

Larson Park

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
We really wanted to have a fun, beautiful, and simple wedding on a tight budget. Our ceremony and reception location was a true gem. We held both at Larson Park at Pyott Rd. and 62 in Lake In The Hills. There was a large pond and a pavilion on site. The cost to hold our event here was only $100!! We chose this park because they were the only one in the area that allowed liquor on the premises. We simply had to pay an additional $100 to have liquor served on the grounds. Having the pavilion was also a huge plus, it gave us an option in the event of rain. Our day was perfect, the venue was beautiful- green and lush. Larson Park couldn't have been a more perfect option for the casual style of wedding we had.

Natasha Florist

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
N'atalia Florist, out of Pontiac, IL, created my wedding bouquet. I didn't really know what I wanted, but the owner made beautiful suggestions! My bouquet was a mix of fresh "wildflower" looking flowers. It was very simple and beautiful, and fit the style of my wedding perfectly. The florist has very affordable prices and my bouquet stayed fresh for a long time. It is a very tiny flower shop, so I got that small town, personal attention, which I loved!

Karen Verstege

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
I had my alterations done by Karen Verstege, a woman that has over twenty years experience doing bridal alterations. She conducts her business out of her home. Karen was quick, my gown was completed within a week. I needed a hem and a bustle, and her pricing was very reasonable. The day of the wedding everything fit perfectly, and I was very happy with her efficient, quality services. If you are planning on getting your alterations done at a bridal shop, and you are worried about cost, I would get in touch with Karen, first. I believe her rates are probably much better! She has also worked out of bridal shops for years, so you won't sacrifice quality or experience by doing so. I was very budget conscious, so I was truly lucky that a friend referred her to me!

Pure Energy DJ

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
I was referred to DJ Costello, of Plainfield, IL through a friend. I believe they run a smaller operation than most DJ's-- but they were extremely professional and certainly weren't lacking in experience! Our guests danced the entire night! They had a huge list of songs to choose from. They also have a wide variety of entertainment features: bubble machines, etc. that they offered to us. They were very affordable, as well. Prior to the wedding they were great with follow-up and planning. They sent us a questionairre ahead of time and didnt play any of the songs that we didnt want. They gave us lots of suggestions and ideas to make our reception a blast! They truly were fantastic to work with.

Pastor Joel Fulgham

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Pastor Joel Fulgham of Abundant Life Lutheran Church was our officiant. He married us in an outdoor ceremony at a park. We were his first wedding! He was a Navy career man and had recently completed the necessary courses to officiate marriages. We didnt have pre-occasion classes, but we did meet twice with him prior to the wedding. We got to know him over dinner, he had a genuine interest in getting to know us and learning about our values. At the second meeting we planned the details of the day. During the ceremony he tailored his dialogue to make it a truly intimate, personal, and specific to our relationship. There was not a dry eye in the park.
