Cedric and I knew each other as teenagers. Cedric was attracted to me and I to him, but Cedric was my brother's best friend. I was also seeing someone else, who I thought I was going to marry. But when he broke my heart, Cedric was there, asking me to marry him. Thinking he was being polite, I smiled and declined and it wasn't the romantic proposal a woman looks for: Marry me and dump him. So Cedric married someone else some time later and I went on to college and began working.
Over the years, my brother and I searched for Cedric but wasn't sure the people we found online were him. A couple of years ago, my brother found Cedric, on Facebook. We began talking again although ee was married, but separated. Strange, we would talk for hours on the phone or Facebook. He finally told me after numerous conversations that I was the one and had always been the one, that he loved me and would always loved. Funny, I realized that I loved him too, and that I should have said yes although years ago.
So, here we are, some thirty odd years later, planning our wedding.
