AH! I was informed last night how much I am slacking on my bio! I don't have any colors up!

So here are my colors: berry pink, DARK eggplant, pumpkin orange, and charcoal gray, these colors make me smile and remind me so much of a crisp autumn morning that I couldn't imagine my colors being anything else! FI and I are super big fans of fall and all it brings..its crisp, cheerful, just like the colors.  We are dead set on these, as a matter of fact, its the second or third thing we decided on when planning our wedding :)

So without further ado...I present...the colors :o)

  • 9 Comments if you completely ignore the fact that it has taken me 6 months to upload a picture of my ring, and the Lord of the Rings reference above, its actually really pretty! :o)

Doug picked it out all by himself, he said the detial underneath the ring reminded him alot of this day he swears its a compliment, but I dont get it lol. In my personal, all important opinion, this is the best ring I could ever have asked for..its so much above anything I've ever dreamed of!

I'll admit it...I bought my shoes before I've even narrowed down dresses.  I saw these and couldnt help myself! They are amazing! FI is MUCH taller than I am, so the higher the better :)

The nice thing about these shoes is that I have incredibly flat feet (we blame it on years of swimming and walking around with no shoes on).  There is definitely not even a curve, more or less and arch, so finding shoes that are comfortable and that I can wear for long periods of time are hard to come by.  Both of these shoes are comfortable and I can't wait to wear them! Now we just have to find the dress...

totally am borrowing this from heather.nicole86...THANKS GIRL!

How old are you both? I am 23 and Doug is 24

Do you have any pets? not yet!

Was the proposal a complete surprise? Yes! I thought he was going to do it on our family cruise (a week before) or Christmas time!

Will the wedding guests be "balanced?" probably not..I think mine may outnumber his :)

What are some traditions you're keeping at your wedding? probably the boquet toss, the "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" thing, we arent seeing eachother until I walk down that asile (YAY!!!) and we are cutting the cake with my grandfathers sword!

Are you buying his wedding band for him?  he is using his grandfathers ring as his wedding band

What is one thing about your FI that drives you nuts? he is cool as a cucomber and I'm very hummingbird like (always going doing something etc) lol, so that drives me crazy! and sportscenter...holy moses, don't get me strated on sports center (the 20 minute loops of the same information and he will watch it for HOURS "just in case something happens"....seriously?)

What are you most looking forward to about being married? Being with him all the time and making fun of our wrinkles together when we are older :) and of course a family one day!

Inside or outside? inside! our date is in November, plus I've realized daring Mother Nature is not something I'm too keen on doing

List anything you dislike.  people who tell me to "calm down" when I'm angry (clearly not the best approach), driving in NOVA and DC (yes, ladies, where I live is ranked #1 for worst traffic in the US), chinese food, BBQ sauce, and icing (bummer for wedding cakes :) )

How many people will be there?  Our church holds 150 max, so 150 and below :) .

Time of day?  afternoon/evening

Any kind of theme?  fall and pumpkins

How many bridesmaids?  5 bridemsiad, 1 MOH.

What kind of cake/what will it look like?  Not too sure...FMIL bff is going to do our cake, and I'm not really too particular on the cake, so if it looks good with everything else I'll love it

What kind of dress will you have/color/mat erial? white one? haha...I have no idea yet.  Hopefully I'll know soon!

What kind of flowers in your bouquet?  Hot pink daisys, dark purple dhalias, and orange something or others (all subject to change!)

Kind of engagement ring?  brilliant cut with halo and channel settings on the side...shes AMAZING :)

How will you wear your hair?  The lady that does my hair has done it since I've been 4 so I have full faith that whatever she wants to do with my hair (as long as its not a mohawk) will be perfect

Who will be important there?  the people that show up :) and Doug of course

How long will you be engaged before you get married?  16 months almost to the DAY!

Live together before or wait till married?  We are not living together before we are married.  We were going to and we just found out it was way to expensive to live in this area while we are both fresh out of school with low salaried jobs.

Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple? I'm going to take the WHOLE time to plan the wedding! I could bust it out in a few months. But I think I'm genetically dispositioned to be a Bridezilla, so I'm taking my time so I can avoid that :)

Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made? I would NEVER be able to write my own vows, Doug on the other hand could bust out a page or 2 an hour before the wedding and have the whole place in tears, including in order to save face, we will be doing the traditional vows :)

Funny story about this venue....

This was the first place we looked when we started looking at reception venues.   Before we got to the gardens, FI noticed that it was a lot farther away from the church than we had planned.  We also came to find out that it wasn't quite in our budget that we had set aside for venues. It's tucked away down some twisty-turny roads, but its STUNNING.  It is a botanical garden, and the place in the fall is to die for (perfect colors to match our colors!)..the list goes on and on.  We finally arrive at the gardens, and Renee (one of the coordinators there) let us see the place while it was being set up for a wedding.  FI turned to me and said, "I think this is the spot. I can see you in your dress, this is going to make everything so beautiful."  Ya, and you know how that goes, I'm a sucker for that boy. We booked the church (my childhood church in our favorite little town) and the gardens the following week :)
