Mine were simple. I found gold charger plates at a local discount store and I bought glass cylinders in three different heights which were placed on the charger plate. I was able to have a friend with a business take me to a local floral supply store for the cylinders, bought them by the case and save a ton of money. I engaged a few friends in pretzel dipping 101 and we dipped hundreds of small pretzels in chocolate layed them on sheets of wax paper to dry and we filled one cylinder with them. tip on the chocolate, use a glass bowl in the micro and stir every 30 to 40 seconds until melted..also you only need to dip half of the pretzel. Next was simple a cylinder full of nuts. and the last was a home made trail mix. I think I did one third cups of craisins, chex cereal, cocoa almonds, m&m's, and shredded coconut, mixed it up and filled the cylinder. I found small mouth, long handle clear plastic ladles and put one at each table for a scoop...a stack of cocktail napkins and my guests were happy as clams! Of course I embellished with scatter candles for a bit of spark.
I was recently married and when planning my wedding, I quickly became overwhelmed by all of the options, themes and resources available to brides. Lucky for me I have a creative streak and was able to channel that creativity to create a fun yet elegant reception on a very small budget. Although my wedding has passed, my passion for creating unique and memorable events continues. My goal is only to share my thoughts, ideas, how to's, and advice to other brides who are planning their dream day on a budget.
I am not a person of wealthy means and I live a simple, clean and happy lifestyle. I work full time for a financial insitution and while that pays the bills, it is not my passion. I simply enjoy creating, planning and saving people money! My passion is to help brides plan their weddings and offer cost effective input and it is my hope that my articles will help you as well! Among my friends and peers I've become a party planning resource and I'm always honored when asked my opinion or asked for assistance...it's just fun!!!!
