Jordan and Samantha attended the same middle and high schools, and now they both attend the University of Georgia in Athens.  They were first introduced when Jordan was a senior and Samantha was a sophomore at Warner Robins High School.  The summer after Jordan's freshman year at UGA, Samantha went to a party at his house in Warner Robins, and Jordan said it was then that he decided he was going to ask her on a date.  On September 21, 2004, Jordan asked Samantha if she wanted to go out with him sometime, and she agreed.  From there it was only a matter of time before the two of them realized how well they complemented each other--on December 4, 2004 Jordan asked Samantha to be his girlfriend and she agreed.  She began attending UGA in Fall 2005, and one year later, on November 18, 2006, Jordan proposed at one of their favorite spots on campus!

The Proposal Story:

On November 18, 2006, Jordan told Samantha that he had planned a surprise for her, but that he needed her help carrying it out.  He said that he wanted to take her on a picnic to North Campus, but he didn't know what kind of food to bring.  So the two of them went to the store and bought some picnic food before heading to North Campus with a blanket and some jackets to enjoy their picnic in the cold weather.

About halfway through the picnic, Jordan told Samantha that the reason he had brought her to North Campus was because one of the University of Georgia a capella groups was performing on the steps of the University chapel that evening.  Samantha was excited about the informal concert, and when a few of their mutual friends showed up for the concert as well, she suspected nothing out of the ordinary.

The group sang a few songs before beginning "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge.  Instead of one of the group members singing the male part, though, Jordan turned to Samantha and began singing the words that they both knew very well...  Before he had finished, Samantha was crying, but she still hadn't quite made the connection.  When Jordan took out the ring and got down on one knee, he said to her: "Samantha, I love you more than anything else in this world and I want you to be my wife.  Will you marry me?"  Of course she said yes!!

We are planning on having the wedding ceremony in the courtyard of the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia on September 20, 2009 starting at around 10:00 in the morning.  The reception will follow at the Lady and Sons restaurant at around 11:00, about a mile from the Mansion.

We have decided upon a classic "bride and groom" theme for the reception and the colors for the wedding will be turquoise and magenta
